The Baltimore Ravens shouldn't be quick to add a wide receiver amid their multiple injuries.

The Baltimore Ravens kicked off the 2026 season in a big way, as the team secured a big victory against the Indianapolis Colts, with a final score of 41-23.

With a new coaching staff in place, the performance was a statement win to start the new era under head coach Jesse Minter. However, the team suffered some big injuries during the win.

Wide receiver Zay Flowers had to be pulled from the game due to aggravating the hamstring injury that plagued him earlier in the week prior to the game. Additionally, rookie pass catcher Ja'Kobi Lane reportedly suffered a fractured wrist and could be out for multiple weeks.

Despite the losses to their wide receiver room, the Ravens may not necessarily need to add anyone.

With the injuries, veteran wide receiver Chris Moore stepped in to haul in a 53-yard bomb from quarterback Lamar Jackson. Tight end Mark Andrews also showed a bit of his younger self, securing 49 yards on four receptions.

Baltimore also had two players who did not participate in Week 1, as Devontez Walker is dealing with a groin injury and could not suit up. Rookie receiver Elijah Sarratt was also made inactive due to the players already on the roster for game, pointing to some strong depth.

With the potential that Flowers and Lane's injuries knock them out for Week 2, this leaves Rashod Bateman, Moore, LaJohntay Wester, the potential return of Walker, and Sarratt will not lead the room.

The Ravens may need to add a player or two to the practice squad, with a strong potential that they would be promoting Moore to the active roster after his Week 1 performance. However, the team may opt out of adding anyone.

There is also the possibility that running back Derrick Henry is involved more in the passing game, as he brought in one reception that turned into 19 yards after his keen ability to get YAC (yards after the catch). The back also indicated he would be "very willing" to be more involved in the passing game.

There are also the rookie tight ends, Matt Hibner and Josh Cuevas, who can be counted on to take a more offensive approach moving forward.

All of this is not to say the Ravens should not be smart in adding more players, but they might also not need to look to immediately add more receivers.

Minter also stated that Flowers is "day-to-day" and that his hamstring injury is nothing that should be considered serious.

Flowers popped up on the injury report for Week 1 and was limited due to his hamstring, but he was upgraded to a full participant by the week's end. The receiver also said he was 100 percent.

Flower secured a career-high 150 yards prior to the injury, so he may have simply overworked himself a bit.

There is no guarantee that Flowers will miss Week 2, but the Ravens might also choose to be cautious and let him rest for one week to ensure that he does not cause any sort of further damage to his hamstring.

Baltimore will have some time to decide their next move, but it may not be time to panic in terms of finding an immediate wide receiver to replace Lane or Flowers.
