Lock will be the starter, but there won't be much need for adjustments given Fleury and Lock have already worked together this season...against this exact team.
The Seattle Seahawks will welcome the Arizona Cardinals to Lumen Field on Sunday, but it won't be Sam Darnold starting, it'll be Drew Lock.
With Darnold ruled out earlier in the week with a quad injury, while also nursing a cracked rib, it will be the second time this season that Lock will get a start.
In Week 1, he came in after five plays against the New England Patriots, and he started the following week against the Cardinals on the road, and led Seattle to a 31-7 win.
So, in some aspects, this is the ideal scenario for Seattle.
But when the starting quarterback goes out, the playbook often changes dramatically and becomes much simpler for the backup.
However, as offensive coordinator Brian Fleury explains, given the familiarity with Drew, not much change is needed.
"Luckily I've had experience calling plays for Drew in two games already this season," Fleury said. "So, there's obviously a little bit of an adjustment, but I'm comfortable with what Drew likes and what he's comfortable executing, particularly against this defense. Luckily, this is something we've been through before.
"So, it was easy to put the plan together once we got the news that he was going to be the starter."
In the Week 2 win over Arizona, Lock was superb.
He would finish his day going 19-of-26 for 235 yards and 3 TDs, while having a passer rating of 139.1. That is some afternoon.
Now, in the cozy confines of Lumen Field, the Seahawks will be hoping that Lock can have a similar stat line and that the end result will be the same.
Of course, it doesn't really matter how Seattle wins, as long as it does, because at 4-4, their season is delicately poised, and in truth, it could go either way right now.
With Lock stepping in for Darnold, the hope is that he can keep this ship afloat until No. 14 returns, and he has shown previously that he can bus drive this thing to a win.
On Sunday, he'll have another chance to further his reputation as a good backup NFL quarterback as he takes the field in what will be his 30th career start.
And Seahawks fans hope it's a good one.
