There hasn't been much news regarding the sale of the Seahawks, but now we have a potential date of when things could be happening.
We know that the Seattle Seahawks have been up for sale for a while, and we also know that it will most likely be the highest bidder who gets the chance to run the Super Bowl champs.
But over the past couple of weeks, we haven't heard much at all in terms of who the new owners could be, and perhaps more importantly, when the proposed sale would be official.
Well, we might have some clarity on that front finally.
A source has told Pro Football Talk that the new Seahawks owner will be in place by September, and according to the publication, there's a real chance that the new owner will "debut" as Seattle opens up its season against the New England Patriots.
So, things, it appears, will be moving rather swiftly over the coming months, to make sure the sale of the team coincides with the timetable provided by this source.
The next big question that fans want to know is how much will the Seahawks be sold for?
Given how last season transpired, their value is at the highest it's ever been, and there are some reports that the Seahawks could be sold for above $9 billion, which would be a great deal.
It is worth noting that when Josh Harris bought the Washington Commanders, it sold for just above $6 billion, so for the Seahawks to potentially get $3 billion more, that would present a good negotiation.

Given the magnitude and the size of this deal, every detail has to be on point, because taking over an NFL team is no small matter, and right now, you could argue that the Seahawks are one of the most well-run organizations in the league.
So whoever takes over will have a great foundation to continue to build on as the Seahawks have come to life over the past couple of seasons under Mike Macdonald, and as defending Super Bowl champs, the stock has never been higher.
And for the new owner, the task at hand will be to continue to build on what has already been created, to further enhance the Seahawks' standing in the NFL.
