According to Scot McCloughan, a former Seahawks scout, the Super Bowl champs got the best Notre Dame running back in the draft.

The Seattle Seahawks knew that running back was a big priority ahead of the NFL Draft, and they took Notre Dame's Jadarian Price.

Some thought the Seahawks would trade back out of the first round to add more draft capital, but the franchise stayed put and took Price at No. 32 overall.

A backup at Notre Dame to superstar back Jeremiyah Love, Price didn't get to fully showcase his skills, as he was often second fiddle.

In his three college seasons, Price never had over 120 carries in any year, but when he did get on the field, he was productive, averaging no less than 5.8 yards per clip.

Price managed 11 TDs last season, along with 674 yards, while Love was the star of the show, amassing 1,372 yards and 18 TDs to be one of the most sought-after players in the draft.

Love was expected to be a high selection, and he was, with the Arizona Cardinals taking him at No. 3, while Price, at No. 32, managed to sneak in as a first-round pick.

But the gap between the two players might not be what everyone thinks.

Well, at least to former Seahawks scout Scot McCloughan, who in an interview with The Athletic, thinks that Seattle got the better of the two running backs.

“And you wait and see, bud,” he said via The Athletic. “I’m telling you: Price is going to be a better player than Love. I think he’s Nick Chubb, who we took in Cleveland and who was really, really good until he blew his knee out.””

Price better than Love? Goodness me that is a quite the prediction.

Of course, this is all subjective, as we don't know how either will adjust to the rigors of NFL football, but the consensus is that Love will be just fine.

Also, there have been people who thought prior to the draft that Price was easily a starting-caliber back in the NFL, so this will be a fascinating career trajectory to watch develop over the coming years.

We could look back on McCloughan's comment in 12 months or even 24 months, and he'll either be a genius or someone who got his evaluation wrong.

For Seahawks fans, they hope that Scot knows his stuff and that the franchise did get the best back in the draft.
