Seattle legend Russell Wilson may be calling it a career if the latest reports on his future are to be believed.

It's been a journey for former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson since he left the Emerald City. The one-time Super Bowl champion has bounced around from team to team, as it has been speculated that his career is winding down.

According to the latest intel, the end to this longtime career may be sooner than anticipated.

Wilson recently paid a visit to the New York Jets to try and land a spot on their roster after spending last season with the neighboring Giants. After this meeting, reports circulated that Wilson was seriously considering making the switch from the field to the television studio.

While nothing has come from this initial meeting with the Jets and both parties could still be in communication for Wilson to board their roster, it seems odd that this news of a potential job switch starts swirling after the latest tryout for a new team.

If the lowly Jets are not interested in bringing Wilson into the locker room, there would be few other, if any, suitors that would potentially sign him on. That lends credence to the idea of joining the television side of the NFL.

Following his lengthy career in Seattle, Wilson has suited up for four different NFL squads in the last four seasons. The longest of these stints was with the Denver Broncos, which unceremoniously ended after two years.

Not to be fully negative, as Wilson was definitely a stellar quarterback during his time in Seattle and will undoubtedly be remembered fondly for his skills and the title brought back to city. However, it appears that time might have begun to pass Wilson by.

If Wilson does decide to close the chapter as a player, where would he go in the TV world? Andrew Marchand of The Athletic thinks he knows, as he reported that CBS is the favorite to land Wilson as the newest member of their NFL Today panel.

No one really knows what lies ahead for Wilson except for the man himself and while opinions of his play has taken a turn in recent seasons, he appears to have a desire to continue his legacy on the field.

Whether it be with the Jets, another new team or a change to the other side of the camera, Wilson will be around the NFL for the foreseeable future, all that remains to be seen is the role that he will play.
