The Seahawks are coming off a great win over Kansas City, and two key reinforcements could return ahead of Sunday night against Chicago.
The Seattle Seahawks managed to steady the ship with a crucial win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7, but now attention moves to the Chicago Bears in Week 8.
With the defense in dominant form, and the offense, at least for one week, showing the world what it is capable of under Brian Fleury, the Seahawks appear to be in a good spot right now.
And it appears they could get even better.
Injuries are part and parcel of the game, and the running back room has been hit hard, with Zach Charbonnet dealing with an ACL injury, although he has been working back into practice over the past couple of weeks.
And first-round rookie Jadarian Price has been out with a chest injury for the past four games.
With Charbonnet thought to be close to a return against Kansas City, the Seahawks opted for the safe approach, ramping up Zach after so much time out.
And with Price, it isn't known if he will slot straight back into the team or follow a similar path to Charbonnet.
Head coach Mike Macdonald gave an interesting update on the pair that might give a lot of hope to Seahawks fans.
"Yeah, this situation's a little different in terms obviously for the length of the injuries," Macdonald said. "Could both play? Yes. Could either play? Yes. Could either one play? Yes."
In short, both are in the frame to return against the Bears.
The big question is how they are feeling physically.
With Price dealing with a chest/rib injury, and Charbonnet with an ACL injury, the pair have gone through different rehab programs.
Getting them into football shape can be challenging, but for Charbonnet, having now had, to our count, three weeks of practice, he feels like he could be the one to get the green light for Chicago.
Price, on the other hand, hasn't missed as much time as Zach and has had a full offseason, so four weeks out isn't that big of a deal.
Still, there may be a need to ease Price back into the picture, as you don't want two running backs returning from injury at the same time, likely with limited snaps.
So, this week, it might be either or.
But one thing is for certain: reinforcements are on the way.
