Wright was a big surprise in the loss to the Titans, ripping off a huge run in the second quarter.
The Seattle Seahawks' running back room has been a close watch all offseason, and in the 19-16 loss to the Tennessee Titans, we might have added another name to the watch list.
With George Holani and Jadarian Price not suiting up, along with Zach Charbonnet, who is coming back from an ACL injury, it was a chance for those lower on the depth chart to prove their worth.
And for Jacardia Wright, it took him two drives to show what he can bring to the offense.
As the Seahawks got the ball after Drew Lock orchestrated a touchdown drive to open the game, Wright burst through the line of scrimmage untouched and raced 69 yards for a touchdown to put Seattle up 13-3.
Wright would finish his night going for 81 yards on eight carries as he firmly put himself into the roster calculations with his performance.
"Honestly, our coach tell us to stay A gap on counter plays, stay A gap and then saw a little hole off to the right and shoot seen nothing but green grass and a touchdown, so, I took it," Wright said of his touchdown run.
With the running back room dealing with its fair share of injuries this offseason, Wright was also one of them.
So getting back onto the practice field and then making a play as he did will surely give him confidence heading into the third and final preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
But while he's thankful for his game against the Titans, his mindset remains the same.
"Just getting back, I thank God every day for just letting me be able to come out here and have an opportunity," Wright added. "I'm just take it day by day. Just keep taking advantage of every opportunity my feet touch the field."
And against the Titans, Wright did that and then some.
While it isn't known how many backs Seattle will keep on the roster, with Holani, Price, and Charbonnet locks, it is getting tight for spots.
But Wright is giving it his all in the hopes of securing a roster spot as cut downs loom in the coming weeks, and ripping off a 69-yard TD certainly helps your case.
