As a first-round pick, Price is expected to produce straight away, but how does he deal with that pressure?
Seattle Seahawks running back Jadarian Price is readying himself for his rookie season as the lead back for the Super Bowl champs.
That in itself is a little daunting, but when you factor in that most people are looking to him to be the Kenneth Walker replacement, that also carries a little bit of extra pressure.
Seen prior to the NFL Draft as a player who is more than capable of being a starter, we get the sense he will get that chance with Zach Charbonnet out for at least the first half of the season as he recovers from his ACL injury.
But for a rookie to have to come in and produce straight out of the gate as a starter, that can be a little confronting, considering Price hasn't played a competitive game of football since November.
However, when asked how he plans to handle the pressure of being "the guy" to start the season on Seattle Sports, Price offered a unique take.
"You're in a blessed position if you even have a little bit of pressure, because I got taken 32nd overall to a Super Bowl-winning team and who has a great O-line, great head coach, great running back coach, I'm in a great position, But that comes with a lot of expectations because they took me first round," Price said.
"So, what do I need to do to make this team successful, this offense? That's just be me. I truly believe that I'm capable of doing that. Pressure is just when you're unprepared, you feel so much pressure. The more prepared you can be, you don't have to worry about that."
And that is true.
Price has been getting the hang of Brian Fleury's offense this offseason and we haven't seen him in any preseason games as the Seahawks look to keep him fresh for the regular season, which starts against the New England Patriots.
However, he knows that regardless of how much you prepare, nerves will always be there, but he's in a good spot ahead of the season opener.
"It don't matter how good you are, how much money you make, you're going to be nervous before a game," Price added. "That's just the reality of the sport and competition, but no, I've been preparing pretty well, and I'm ready, so I don't feel too much pressure."
For most rookies, the NFL season can feel a little daunting, but for Price, he's taking it in his stride as a starter for the defending Super Bowl champs.
