Zach Charbonnet has been the big focus this week for the Seahawks, but another running back has also caught the attention.
The Seattle Seahawks' running back room has been dealt a tough hand with injuries in the first six weeks of the season.
Having already been without Zach Charbonnet, who is recovering from an ACL injury, Seattle also lost first-round rookie back Jadarian Price in Week 3 with what is thought to be a rib/chest injury.
The Seahawks then placed Price on IR which ruled him out of the next four games.
After 52, 52, and 15 yards before getting hurt, it felt like Price was starting to get his bearings in the NFL, but he has sat on the sidelines for the past few weeks.
We thought that Charbonnet could return this week on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, but head coach Mike Macdonald ruled him out, stating that the team was following the plan for their red zone monster.
But what about Price?
Is he trending in the right direction after missing the past three games?
"Yeah, JD's doing well," Macdonald said. "We'll look at it next week, I believe, is when his window can open."
So that is a positive, and now it opens the door to a potential scenario in Week 8 that Seahawks fans will love.
Both Charbonnet and Price returning against the Chicago Bears.
We know that Zach has been practicing for the past couple of weeks as he is in a ramp-up period, having had no preseason at all, so the Seahawks will be cautious with him.
As for Price, he's missed the past three weeks, and we aren't sure how much work he has been doing due to his injury, but his window to return could open next week if the Seahawks deem him fit enough.
Of course, just because the Seahawks open his window doesn't mean he will slot straight into the team and play. Seattle, if it did open the window, would then have 21 days to put him on the active roster.
So, in theory, Price could be moved off IR and then have a week or two of ramp-up, much like Charbonnet, and then be unleashed.
Reinforcements are coming for the Seahawks, but the big question is can they keep their heads above water until they arrive?
