Horton started off his rookie season in good form, but an injury ruined the second half of his year, but now he's back, ready to pick up where he left off.

The life of an NFL rookie isn't always smooth, and Seattle Seahawks receiver Tory Horton found that out in 2025.

Having been a bit-part player in Klint Kubiak's system, Horton was still productive, playing eight games, notching 161 yards and 5 TDs from 13 receptions.

But a shin injury saw him require surgery, and his promising rookie season came to an end midway through the year.

He was just beginning to get rolling in the offense, but the football gods had other ideas. Now, as the Seahawks continue to roll through training camp, Horton is a participant, and that is great news for the offense.

Of course, the Seahawks will be cautious with their receiver, trying not to put too much on his plate in the early stages of camp, but the fact that he is out there on the grass is a great thing for Horton and Seattle.

And as it turns out, Tory is just happy to finally be able to get on the practice field.

“It was a whole bit of excitement,” Horton said. “You want to hear that you’ve been cleared and you’re going to start progressing to field work and that’s something that I’ve been looking forward to. Having the opportunity to hear that from the head coach [Mike Macdonald] himself, that’s great to me and I’m excited about it and I’m trying to keep it moving forward.”

With the Seahawks needing someone else to step up in the passing game to give Jaxon Smith-Njigba some help, many are looking to special teamer/receiver Rashid Shaheed.

He's done it before and has gotten in some good work in Brian Fleury's offense in camp, but we can't forget about Horton in this situation either.

Let's not forget that of his 13 receptions last season, five of them were touchdowns, so the Seahawks got a lot of bang for their buck last season.

There is hope that with a mostly full offseason and with his injury troubles behind him, Horton can continue his development to the point where Sam Darnold, who already showed confidence in Tory last season, is in an even better place to rely on the young receiver.

He showed in his rookie season he can be a threat, but injury derailed it. Now, he's healthy, and ready to attack 2026.
