The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for wide receiver help this week as injuries have decimated the unit through the first five games.

Michael Pittman Jr., who the Steelers traded for this offseason, is on injured reserve with a foot injury. Roman Wilson will miss the Steelers' contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6 due to a hand injury. Ben Skowronek is out for Week 6 due to a calf/leg injury.

The Steelers are reportedly prepared to make an aggressive move for help before the trade deadline on Nov. 10. Pittsburgh could use help at receiver, the offensive line, and in the secondary. (Pittsburgh traded away Broderick Jones and Joey Porter Jr., giving general manager Omar Khan some pieces to make moves this fall.)

Pittsburgh is doing their due diligence on the wide receiver market this week.

Per Sports Illustrated, the Steelers are set to visit with JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Smith-Schuster, a second-round pick by Pittsburgh in 2017, has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, and New York Giants. He earned Pro Bowl honors on the Steelers in 2018 and won Super Bowl LVIII with the Chiefs.

During his time in the league, Smith-Schuster has recorded 481 receptions for 5,624 yards. He had a big game for Pittsburgh in the 2020 Wild Card Round, recording 13 receptions for 157 yards and a score in a 48-37 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Smith-Schuster was never a true No. 1 receiver for the Chiefs, but he put up decent numbers in Kansas City last year. In 2025, he caught 33 passes for 345 yards and one touchdown. His best season in Kansas came in 2022, when he recorded 78 receptions for 933 yards and three touchdowns.

He could be an ideal pickup for the Steelers amid their injury concerns at this point in the season. If the Steelers think they can get production from Smith-Schuster, that could free up Pittsburgh to look for other positions to trade for in the next few weeks.

At 3-2, the Steelers are tied for second place in the AFC North with the Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. Pittsburgh is one game behind the Baltimore Ravens, who are dealing with injury concerns of their own with Lamar Jackson.

Given the timing of the visit, it's unlikely Smith-Schuster would play on Sunday against the Buccaneers, but he could be of help in the near future.
