Music City’s total rebrand reaches a fever pitch as the franchise reveals the debut date and divisional opponent for their shoe-inspired, high-stakes alternate threads in 2026.
The Tennessee Titans have gone through plenty of change this offseason.
It's a new era in Music City, with Robert Saleh as head coach and Mike Borgonzi as the General Manager.
There's another uniform change on the horizon for the Titans. The NFL is releasing its Nike "Rivalries" uniforms for specific games in the 2026 season.
Designs of what the uniforms could look like have been created. The design was made based on a pair of Air Max 90s.
On Friday, we finally learned when the uniforms are being released. We also figured out who the Titans will be wearing them against.
The Titans posted a video on X revealing that we'll see the uniforms for the first time on Aug. 25. Per the Titans' official website, the team will wear them when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 15 at Nissan Stadium.
The Titans-Jaguars rivalry isn't the first that comes to mind when you think about the teams that this franchise has beef with the most.
If you look back at history, the Houston Texans would probably be the favorite for the Titans' biggest rival. Before they were the Titans, the franchise was known as the Houston Oilers, founded in 1960.
The Oilers remained in the AFL until the NFL merger in 1970. It wouldn't be until 27 years later that the franchise would decide to move to the Volunteer State.
After the city of Houston did not approve a new stadium, Owner Bud Adams had had enough and decided to move his franchise. The franchise was known as the Tennessee Oilers before becoming the Titans in 1999, once Adelphia Coliseum was completed.
The NFL then made an interesting decision, trusting Houston with another franchise. In 2002, the Houston Texans were born.
There's been a heated rivalry between both franchises ever since.
There's history with the Titans and Jaguars too, however. The Jaguars became an NFL franchise in 1995, and the Titans faced them not once, but three times in their inaugural 1999 season.
The Jaguars and Titans played twice in the regular season since they are in the same division. Then, they met again in the AFC Championship Game in the 1999 season.
The Jaguars went 14-2 in the regular season, and both of those losses were to the Titans. The Titans then ended the Jaguars' season on their way to the Super Bowl.
There have been many great games between the Titans and Jaguars over the years. The Titans clinched a playoff spot after beating the Jaguars 15-10 at Nissan Stadium in 2017.
Then, the Jaguars got some revenge and knocked the Titans out of playoff contention at the end of the 2022 season with a 20-16 win. Tennessee returned the favor the following season by beating Jacksonville 28-20.
What's interesting about those scenarios is that the team that lost in those games went on a massive losing streak to end the year.
The Jaguars were 8-3 heading into Week 13 of the 2023 season and went 1-5 in their last six games. The Titans were 7-3 after beating the Green Bay Packers on the road, but didn't win another game that season.
Saleh is in his first year coaching the Titans, but he and Liam Coen didn't get along last season. When Saleh was with the San Francisco 49ers as the defensive coordinator
It started when Saleh alleged that Coen had been using a legal method to steal signs leading up to the game. The 49ers lost to the Jaguars 26-21, and Coen had words for Saleh after the game.
The two had a heated exchange, which blew up on social media.
Now, Saleh and Coen will get to face each other as head coaches. For the Titans, it's going to be personal.
After all the changes that have happened with the Titans this offseason, there's more on the way.
