A top analyst reveals the Titans' surprising No. 4 pick, hinting at a defensive playmaker or offensive speedster to bolster their roster.
The Tennessee Titans will be on the clock on Thursday at the 2026 NFL Draft.
The discourse has changed a lot lately, with General Manager Mike Borgonzi holding his predraft press conference last week.
After sharing that the Titans are going with the best player available at the NFL Owners Meetings, which sounded like Jeremiyah Love would be the answer, Borgonzi added a new wrinkle.
He mentioned there being a pretty good linebacker available in the draft at his most recent press conference, suggesting the Titans could go defense at No. 4.
Borgonzi later shared that Tennessee isn't opposed to trading in the draft.
As the draft inches closer, it's becoming harder to predict who the Titans will take at No. 4, especially after what the GM said.
However, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer had some answers on Monday. If the Titans aren't able to secure a trade for the No. 4 pick, he believed that either Love, Sonny Styles or Arvell Reese would be selected.
"Like Arizona, the Titans would love to move down and build up more capital," Breer said. "Yes, they have nine picks, but only three in the top 100. If they get stuck, my sense is that it’ll be one of three guys at 4: Love, Reese or Styles. Getting Love would be an investment in young quarterback Cam Ward, in his ability to routinely generate better down-and-distance situations and serve as an outlet for easy completions in the passing game. Meanwhile, Reese would give the team the edge-rush help it needs and serve as a Swiss Army knife for Robert Saleh’s defense, while the big, rangy, athletic and long Styles would be exactly what Saleh’s scheme demands of an inside linebacker."
This excludes Rueben Bain Jr., David Bailey and Carnell Tate, who've all been mocked to the Titans in the past.
Love and Styles have been mentioned plenty ahead of the draft.
Love gives the Titans a dynamic playmaker who would take some pressure off of Cam Ward. The Notre Dame product can line up as a receiver if needed as well.
Styles fits the mold of the Fred Warner-type linebacker that Robert Saleh has had in defenses he's worked with in the past, dating back to his time with the San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks.
Styles bring a lot of speed and athleticism to inside linebacker that would greatly benefit the Titans' defense.
Reese has been a recent topic of discussion.
He played linebacker at Ohio State, but could be a good option at edge rusher for the Titans, due to his potential as a pass rusher. He recorded 69 total tackles, 10 TFLs and 6.5 sacks in his final season at Ohio State.
Reese could help a Titans' pass rush that needs consistency beyond just Jeffrey Simmons.
Borgonzi said the Titans will be ready for any scenario at No. 4, and it looks like they'll have no shortage of options.
