With both winless rivals desperate for their first victory, Houston’s depleted roster faces a steep uphill battle against a healthier Tennessee squad in this pivotal divisional showdown.

The Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans are meeting for the 49th time in series history on Sunday.

The series is tied at 24, and something's got to give. Both teams are 0-4 and searching for that elusive first win of the season.

The Titans and Texans have had many close games this year. Outside of the 23-10 loss to the New York Jets in the season opener, the Titans have lost the last three games by six points or fewer.

The Texans are in the same boat.

They lost a 36-31 shootout with the Buffalo Bills in their season opener. Then, they lost to Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals 20-6. The Indianapolis Colts beat the Texans 19-17 on a go-ahead field goal with 16 seconds left.

Last week, the Texans lost a heartbreaker to the Dallas Cowboys 34-30.

Now, either the Titans or the Texans will get their first win on Sunday. Ahead of the game, both teams released their final injury reports.

For the Titans, Carnell Tate (back), Joshua Williams (pec) and David Martin-Robinson (hamstring) were all questionable.

Tate and Williams have been cleared by Robert Saleh, while Martin-Robinson is still a game-time decision. Williams still has to be added to the active roster.

Amani Hooker is out with a concussion. The Titans were otherwise free of any other injuries.

The Texans have more than one game-time decision. Receiver Tank Dell is obviously still out with his knee injury. He was limited for two days of practice and didn't practice on Friday.

M.J. Stewart (Knee), Blake Fisher (illness), Braden Smith (foot), Ed Ingram (illness), Aireontae Ersery (illness) and Kayden McDonald (ankle) were all questionable on the Texans' final injury report.

Out of those players above, Ersery and Ingram are starters on the offensive line. Smith, McDonald, and Stewart would need to be activated from injured reserve. Fisher isn't a starter but could be one of the next men up if Ersery can't play.

The Titans are definitely in better shape than the Texans with their injuries. The Texans have 13 players on the IR right now. Stewart, McDonald, Dell and Smith have all been designated for return but must be activated first.

Tennessee has eight players on its IR. Fernando Carmona and Jackson Slater are the most recent additions. They joined Jaylen Harrell, Jaren Kanak, Dorian Mausi, Tanoh Kpassagnon, Milo Eifler, and Kendell Brooks.

Injuries are going to happen in football. It's unfortunately a reality of playing at this level.

The Texans are dealing with more than the Titans are heading into Sunday. That won't guarantee a win, but it's one advantage the Titans have.

Kickoff is set for noon CT on CBS.
