Fresh uniforms and a revamped roster signal a new era in Nashville. General Manager Mike Borgonzi evaluates if this aggressive identity shift can finally spark a competitive turnaround.
The Tennessee Titans have undergone a full rebrand this offseason.
The Titans will have another new uniform making its debut this year after the NFL announced that the franchise would be receiving Nike Rivalries threads.
The team has also been trying to rebrand its culture.
Robert Saleh is entering his first year as head coach, and Mike Borgonzi is in his second year as General Manager.
The team made wholesale changes to the offense and defense, adding exciting new players for fans to watch, in hopes that the Titans can turn things around after going 6-28 over the last two years.
Now that we are a little over a week away from the season opener, Borgonzi was asked what he thinks about the Titans' culture at Tuesday's press conference.
"You know, I don't know," Borgonzi said. "We'll see when we start the season. But there's certainly a lot of new players that we've added. I think there was a, you know, a thoughtful strategy when you're going through that in terms of, you know, what you're looking for in the player, and also, you know, you're trying to build a culture here, too. So, you want the right type of players in here. So, we're evaluating all those things and, you know, our hope is it comes together. But you know, I think we have the right type of guys in here right now that, you know, we're going to compete."
Borgonzi has been building to this moment since he took the job in January of 2025.
He's prioritized building through the draft and adding valuable free agents to try and turn things around quickly.
It won't happen overnight, as the Titans still have their flaws on the roster. It's hard to deny that the team is in a much better place than it was a year ago.
Will that turn into more than three wins? Who knows.
One thing is for certain with Borgonzi. He believes the Titans will be a competitive team.
What that looks like, we can't know for sure until we see the Titans on the field this season.
The Titans have the chance to show everyone how much they've changed on Sept. 13, when they take on the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium.
