Titans host disruptive SEC edge rusher Zion Young, adding another top prospect to their draft board as they seek game-changing defensive talent.
The Tennessee Titans have a definite need for an edge rusher with the 2026 NFL Draft rapidly approaching.
In just under a month, the Titans will be making their selection at No. 4 overall in the draft. Their pick could very well be an edge rusher, running back, or even wide receiver. I wrote about all the possibilities in one of my recent articles.
Earlier in the offseason, the Titans traded for Jermaine Johnson with the New York Jets, sending defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat in exchange.
Johnson will be holding down one of the starting edge rusher spots on Robert Saleh's defense. There are concerns about who the other edge rusher is going to be.
There is Femi Oladejo, who has very limited starting experience after playing in six games as a rookie before suffering a season-ending injury. There's also Jacob Martin, one of the many free-agent additions the Titans made, who previously played for Saleh with the Jets and is already familiar with what he wants to do on defense.
Martin started 14 games for the Washington Commanders last season and would be a better option.
With how much depth there is at edge rusher in the draft, the Titans could find their next starting edge rusher in April. Rueben Bain and David Bailey have been mocked to the Titans previously, but the team visited with another player at the position on Wednesday.
Per Sports Illustrated's Arye Pulli, the Titans had Missouri edge rusher Zion Young in for a top-30 visit.
Young's college career began at Michigan State in 2022. He played in 20 games for the Spartans before transferring to Missouri in 2024. With the Tigers, he played in 34 games, accounting for 84 total tackles, 22 TFLs and nine sacks from 2024-25.
One thing that stands out from Young's game is that he is a disruptor. He recorded 16.5 TFLs last season at Missouri, speaking to how easily he can get into the backfield and create problems for opposing offenses.
Tennessee is definitely making sure to do its homework when it comes to the edge rushers who will be in the draft. The Titans also visited with Bain on Wednesday.
Young adds another layer to the list of edge rushers that the Titans could select at No. 4. Luckily, this draft class has no shortage of quality talent at the position.
It's anyone's guess who the Titans will select in the first round.
