Reunited with Brian Daboll’s system, the veteran slot receiver joins a revamped Tennessee offense designed to surround quarterback Cam Ward with explosive playmakers and reliable protection.
One of the Tennessee Titans' goals this offseason was to get Cam Ward more help.
That became clear after the moves they made over the last few months. In free agency, they added a veteran slot receiver in Wan'Dale Robinson, who is already familiar with the system of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, and should have an easy time adjusting.
The Titans even brought in reinforcements to the offensive line after releasing center Lloyd Cushenberry and not re-signing right guard Kevin Zeitler in free agency. Tennessee added former New York Giants center Austin Schlottmann and Cincinnati Bengals guard Cordell Volson.
In the 2026 NFL Draft, they selected another receiver for Ward in Carnell Tate from Ohio State. The Titans made two more moves on the offensive line, drafting Indiana center Pat Coogan and Arkansas guard Fernando Carmona.
The receiver room is much improved compared to who Ward was throwing to last season. For the majority of last season, he was throwing to Calvin Ridley, Van Jefferson, Tyler Lockett, Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor.
Now, Ward has Robinson, Tate, Ridley, Dike, and Ayomanor.
Fans got to see this new-look Titans team on the practice field this weekend at OTAs. Robinson was a player people focused on as one of the team's additions this offseason.
He spoke with Titans Insider Jim Wyatt about his mindset with his new team and is prepared to perform his role to the best of his ability, letting his play do the talking.
"I would say it is more (about) doing it, and not saying too much," Robinson said of his mindset. "Just trying to play my part, play my role and do what I am supposed to do and let everything else take care of itself from there."
Robinson has been very productive throughout his NFL career. He's shown improvements every year he's been in the league. He went from finishing with just under 300 receiving yards as a rookie to leading the Giants with 1,014 receiving yards in his fourth year in the NFL last season.
This is just the kind of player that Ward needs, someone who will come in and take the pressure off the receivers. Ridley and Tate can do the same for Robinson as well, which is not something he had the luxury of at the Giants following the ACL injury to Malik Nabers.
The Titans have offensive weapons in place to help Ward succeed. It'll be up to the young quarterback to utilize them to the best of his ability.
