It was another exciting day of competition at the 2026 Calgary Stampede as the final group of competitors looks to secure their spot in Showdown Sunday.
Yesterday’s performance at the 2026 Calgary Stampede did not disappoint. With just one preliminary performance remaining, several events remain wide open as competitors battle for the final spots on Showdown Sunday.
The biggest storyline of Pool C continues to be Kassie Mowry, who once again topped the barrel racing leaderboard after laying down a 16.73-second run. With $14,000 won and one preliminary round left to go, Mowry has secured her spot in Showdown Sunday. Michelle Alley and Hailey Kinsel also made smooth, consistent sub-17 second runs and currently sit second and third in the aggregate, respectively.
Mason Stuller topped the bareback riding performance with an 88.50-point ride. His $7,000 pushed him into second in the aggregate, while Luke Thrash continues to lead the aggregate after another consistent ride. No. 18-ranked Kashton Ford is holding strong at third in the average – a strong showing in Calgary could help boost him into the Top 15 in the world standings.
In saddle bronc riding, Ryder Wright delivered a winning 90-point ride, followed closely by Waitley Sharon. Wright has collected over $13,000 so far, placing him atop the aggregate with one performance remaining.
TJ Gray continued his summer run success with the Performance 8 bull riding win with 86 points. Only four cowboys have covered two of their bulls, with Gray leading the aggregate with $12,500, followed by Josh Frost with $9,000 and Luke Mackey with $7,750.
After sharing the Performance 7 win, Zach Jongbloed followed it up with a solo victory in Performance 8 to move to the top of the tie-down roping aggregate standings. Tom Crouse sits second in the aggregate with $6,500 won. Will Lummus laid down a 3.6-second run in the steer wrestling to top the performance. His $7,000 payday vaulted him to third in the aggregate. Riley Duvall’s consistency has helped him secure his spot atop the aggregate, with JD Struxness sitting second.
No. 2-ranked cowgirl Rylee George topped the breakaway roping with a 2.5 second run, and currently leads the average with $10,250. Despite receiving a no-time in Performance 8, Hali Williams remains second in the aggregate thanks to her winning run in the previous performance. Beau Peterson, Aspen Miller, and Madison Outhier are tied for third in the aggregate, so the race to Showdown Sunday remains anyone's game.
