After accomplishing the ultimate goal in 2025, where are these World Champions at now?
Every year, many cowboys and cowgirls have the same goal. Not only do these athletes have an NFR qualification in their mind, but also the coveted World Champion Gold Buckle proving that they are the best to play the game.
In 2025, we saw so many amazing stories until the very end, Round 10 of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Many of the events really did come down to that final round under the Las Vegas lights.
So these athletes accomplished the ultimate goal in 2025, but now where are they at in 2026? Some of them are right back to the number 1 spot in the standings.
Bareback Riding - Rocker Steiner
Bareback rider Rocker Steiner set the world on fire in 2025. He ended the year with his first gold buckle, breaking the single season earnings record with over $500,000 won. The 22 year old Texas cowboy has 4 NFR qualifications, and finally achieved the ultimate goal in 2025.
Rocker's World Title made the Steiner family the first PRCA family in history to have three generations of world champs. First it was his grandpa in the bull riding, then his dad in the steer wrestling, and now Rocker in the bareback riding.
Now in 2026, Rocker has the same end goal. Currently, he sits number 3 in the standings, with already over $100,000 won. Bradlee Miller and Wacey Schalla are just narrowly ahead of Steiner.

The Steer Wrestling was one of those events that came down to the wire. Some may of called him an underdog even. Tucker Allen did not come into the finals as the number 1 pick for the gold buckle, however after being incredibly consistent over 10 rounds he secured the coveted average title, and his first World Championship.
Allen has not had the winter that he was hoping for. However, we have seen Tucker dominate when the pressure is on and there is still much of the season left to go. The 26 year old California cowboy still sits inside the top 50 in the world still today, and is looking to make his third trip to Vegas this year.
Jackie Jensen PhotographyTeam Roping - Andrew Ward and Jake Long
The team roping was nerve wracking the entire 10 rounds in Vegas. When Andrew Ward and Jake Long backed into the box for the last time in the Thomas and Mack in 2025, they were not even sure if the gold buckle was a possibility. They just went out and made their run and let the cards lay. When it was all said and done, they had accomplished the goal and were both NFR Average and World Champions.
Andrew, Oklahoma man, was at his 6th NFR. Heeler, Jake, from Kansas was at his 15th. Though you could consider them veterans, neither of the talents had ever won a gold buckle. That all changed in 2025. This year, they are back going at it again and sit in the top 30 of the world.
Jackie Jensen PhotographySteer Roping - Cole Patterson
Cole Patterson is arguably the greatest of all time when it comes to the steer roping. In 2025, at the National Finals Steer Roping, he had his hands full with young gun Riley O'Rourke right on his heels. However, after the final round was complete, Patterson had secured his 4th World Title.
The 30 year old Kansas talent is back in comfortable position in 2025 sitting second in the world standings. He is just behind Texas cowboy Cody Lee. Patterson receently won the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo in Guymon Oklahoma, helping him to get to his 8th NFSR in 2026.
Saddle Bronc - Statler Wright
Statler Wright was almost considered an underdog story as well. Though you can never count out any of the boys in blue, it seemed like the gold buckle was going to go home to Utah with either Stetson or Ryder. However, the youngest of the brothers came from down in the standings and had an amazing 10 rounds in Vegas. Statler Wright claimed his first gold buckle in 2025.
Now in 2026, Wright is back in the running to do it again, this time with 3 older brothers standing in his way. Last year, Statler welcomed his first baby girl, got married, and became a World Champion. 2026 is going to be hard to top that.
Statler sits just outside the top 15 but is steadily climbing going into the summer.
Jackie Jensen PhotographyTie Down Roping - Riley Webb
History was made when Riley Webb was crowned a 3x consecutive World Champion in 2025. He is the first cowboy to do so since Roy 'Super Looper' Cooper. Riley is another talent that is well in the conversation of the Greatest Of All Time, and he is only just started his career.
Webb is only 22 years old with 4 NFR qualifications, 3 gold buckles, and many records in his name. This year, he is right back in familiar territory at number 1 in the standings after claiming his third RODEOHOUSTON title and setting an incredible arena record there.
It is safe to say that Riley Webb is not going anywhere and has some huge, history making, goals to accomplish.
Jackie Jensen PhotographyBreakaway Roping - Taylor Munsell
Another event where the gold buckle was still undetermined by that 10th round is the breakaway roping. The 2025 NFBR was held in Fort Woth Texas. Taylor Munsell lit up cowtown coliseum to claim her first gold buckle.
It came down to the very end. Taylor had an amazing regular season, setting a season earnings record. When she got to the finals, Munsell was not having the luck that was expected. Shelby Meged and Josie Connor were hot on her tail for the World title. When the pressure was on, Munsell stepped up to the plate, and hit a home run, securing the gold that was firmly in sight all year long.
This year Taylor has started strong again. The Alva, Oklahoma cowgirl sits number 3 in the World Standings as of now.
Barrel Race - Kassie Mowry
Kassie Mowry has been arguably the most talked about rodeo athlete of her time. She is now a 2x consecutive World Champion. This story is one that will last forever. She not only won a second gold buckle after a record breaking year where she sat number 1 all season long, she did so on a different horse.
In the barrel race, horse power is the biggest factor. Kassie is known for her amazing horse Jarvis that helped her win her first gold buckle in 2024. Jarvis and her had an amazing 2025 regular season, but when the EHV outbreak began, Kassie decided to leave him at home for the NFR. She had to go in with confidence riding two horses in the Thomas and Mack. Not only did she hold her ground, she ended up winning several go rounds and the World Title.
No surprise to report that Kassie is right back in the number one spot again in 2026. Jarvis and Mowry have been unstoppable in the winter building rodeos, and have a great lead on the pack. It is safe to say they are going to be hard to beat time and time again.
Jackie Jensen PhotographyBull Riding & All Around - Stetson Wright
Stetson Superman Wright is back on top. After winning the the all around and bull riding gold buckles in 2025, Stetson once again put his name in the history books. Stetson might of been the biggest comeback story of the year, and again in 2026 is after history making goals.
Stetson is firmly in the lead in the all around, as well as the bull riding right now, and in the top few of the saddle bronc as well. The main goal for 2026 is to become a 13x World Champion by winning the triple crown. If anyone can accomplish such a huge feat, it will be Stetson Wright.
