The winger is set to leave western Germany after four years with his contract due to expire next summer.

Reports are swirling that Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi is set to join Barcelona. Sky Germany reported that the deal will cost €22 million (£18.7 million) with potentially €9 million (£7.7 million) in add-ons.
The media outlet said the 25-year-old has agreed personal terms on a five-year contract netting €6 million (£5million) a year in wages, while BVB will retain a 35% sell-on fee if he moves on in future.
The Catalan club saw a slightly smaller offer rejected earlier this week while there has also been talk of three Barcelona youngsters moving in the other direction.
Adeyemi had just entered the final year of his Dortmund contract that he signed when he joined the team in 2022. It was not expected that he was going to sign a new contract with the German side so the club had no option but to sell him.
Karim Adeyemi's career at Borussia Dortmund
Adeyemi arrived from RB Salzburg for €30 million in 2022 as an exciting young forward. His exceptional pace quickly made him a key asset, even briefly becoming the Bundesliga's fastest-ever recorded player.
He delivered memorable Champions League moments, including a solo winner against Chelsea in 2023, and played a significant role in Dortmund's run to the 2024 final.
However, persistent injuries and on-and-off disciplinary issues have repeatedly disrupted his progress. In on instance he was fined and given a community service order for inadvertently ordering an illegal weapon. He has missed 51 games for club and country since 2022.
Despite a strong start to the 2025/2026 season, his form and fitness declined after the winter break and he was left out of Germany's World Cup squad. He finished with respectable totals of 10 goals and six assists across all competitions but managed less than 600 minutes of playing time this calendar year.
In total he played 146 games in a trophyless four years at BVB, scoring 36 goals and getting 25 assists.
Why Barcelona want him
Barcelona have been looking for wingers with resale potential as they look to replace the loan of Manchester United's Marcus Rashford. After signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for €80 million (£69.3 million) their funds are stretched and it appears Adeyemi was an easy cut-price option.
Still only 25-years-old, Adeyemi is set to start this new chapter in Catalonia.
