The topic of Serhou Guirassy has been one discussed at length throughout the summer transfer window so far. The striker has yet to decide whether or not he will remain a Borussia Dortmund player going into the new season.

Their top target, Fisnik Asllani, has long been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund this summer, and despite some reports suggesting that a deal had been agreed and the transfer is imminent, these reports have been completely dismissed.
However, Borussia Dortmund seem reluctant to make a move for the striker, who has a release clause, and fellow Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig are also interested in the Kosovo forward. Still, reports suggest that the Hoffenheim attacker favours a move to the Signal Iduna Park.
But that all depends on whether Borussia Dortmund actually step up their pursuit of the forward, which is all seemingly linked with the decision that Serhou Guirassy needs to make regarding his future.

Should Fisnik Asllani still be available on the market when they decide to make their move, and should Serhou Guirassy leave the club, then they will go after his signature over anyone else. However, should RB Leipzig secure a deal for Fisnik Asllani before Borussia Dortmund makes a move, then Folarin Balogun seems a similar alternative.
The only issue is that if Folarin Balogun continues to have an impactful and impressive World Cup, that will only raise his asking price from Monaco.
Furthermore, with the American striker being contracted to the Ligue 1 club until 2028, Monaco are under no immediate pressure to sell, but may see an opportunity to sell the striker while his market value will be at the highest it has ever been, following this World Cup.
