Are Borussia Dortmund Asking For Too Much?
With many of the reports in recent days focusing on high-profile outgoings for Borussia Dortmund, flying under the radar are a few low-profile departures, with one of them being the potential exit of Almugera Kabar this summer
Who Is Almugera Kabar
For those who are unfamiliar with the 20-year-old, he is a Left Back/Left Wing Back who has been attached to Borussia Dortmund since 2019, following stints at SV Husten 09 and Hammer SpVg academies.
Almugera Kabar, since making his first appearance in any capacity for Borussia Dortmund's first team in 2024, has failed to establish himself in the first team squad on a full-time basis.

Now, on paper, it would seem that these statistics aren't exactly game-changing and certainly not enough, in isolation, to warrant a move up from the 4th tier. However, it would appear that not only could a move out of the 4th tier be on the cards, but a move to a Bundesliga side is a potential destination for Almugera Kabar.
What Has Been Reported?
This is amid reports from BILD that VfB Stuttgart are looking at the Germany U17 World Cup winner as a potential option to be a backup to the ever-present Maximilian Mittelstädt.
The issue with this transfer however is that within the same report, it states that while Borussia Dortmund are keen to get Almugera Kabar off the payroll, as shown by the player nearly moving to Hamburg SV in the winter window, they are demanding a €5 million fee for the German defender, a fee that is understandably deemed too high for a player with a severe lack of top level experience.
Author's Verdict
In summary, Borussia Dortmund are likely to have to lower their asking price to move Almugera Kabar on this summer. The player is massively unproven at the top level and has just come off the back of a good season, yes, but in the German 4th tier, which is night and day compared to the Bundesliga.
So Borussia Dortmund demanding a €5 million fee for a player with so little top-level experience seems strange. Maybe they still believe there is potential there, or perhaps they are inflating the process due to VfB Stuttgart being direct competition, either way, it seems unlikely that a deal will take place at this figure, so either VfB raise the amount they are willing to pay, or the more likely scenario, Borussia Dortmund lower their demands.
