Facing mounting scrutiny and rumors of potential successors, the Argentine coach eyes a record-breaking home victory to silence critics and ignite a consistent run of form.

Martín Demichelis insists he is embracing the pressure surrounding his position at RB Leipzig as his side prepares to face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday evening.

Die Roten Bullen return from the international break with three wins and three defeats across all competitions, a record that has raised questions about their consistency under the Argentine coach.

With speculation about potential successors continuing to circulate, Demichelis has made it clear that he shares the supporters' expectations and welcomes the challenge of delivering better results.

"Our fans have ambitions and expect more from this squad, and so do I, every player and everyone working at the club. I enjoy this kind of challenge and pressure because adrenaline is one of the best feelings in football. You need that pressure if you want to achieve your goals."

He said during Friday's press conference.

Demichelis Sees Progress During International Break

The international break arrived at an important moment for the German side, allowing Demichelis to review his team's performances after a difficult opening to the campaign.

Although nine players were away representing their countries, the coach believes the time was used productively.

"These have been important weeks for us. We've had the chance to take a close look at where we are and make the most of the break. We weren't able to train with the full squad until Thursday, but the players who were here worked extremely hard and with real intensity."

He explained.

Demichelis also revealed that the squad held a team meeting and that he was encouraged by the quality of the final training sessions.

"We want to put in a good performance against Frankfurt from the first minute to the last, both in and out of possession, and take all three points."

Demichelis added.

That emphasis on performance is significant.

Leipzig have shown flashes of their attacking potential this season but have struggled to maintain the same level throughout matches.

Saturday offers an immediate opportunity to demonstrate that the work undertaken during the break has produced improvements.

Leipzig Can Set New Club Record

Despite their inconsistent overall start, Leipzig have been formidable at the Red Bull Arena in Bundesliga competition.

Victory over Frankfurt would extend their winning streak at home to eight consecutive league matches, establishing a new club record.

That allows Demichelis to achieve something positive at a time when attention has increasingly shifted towards his future.

Julian Nagelsmann remains highly regarded by influential figures within Red Bull's leadership, while former Liverpool manager Arne Slot, according to our sources, has also emerged as a potential candidate should the club decide to make a coaching change.

However, Demichelis continues to have the backing of Leipzig's decision-makers, and there is no indication that his dismissal is imminent.

For now, the Argentine is concentrating on the players available to him.

Demichelis Explains Christo's Position

One player Demichelis hopes will benefit from the break is Christo, who has been working to regain full match fitness following his arrival from Italy.

The coach acknowledged that the attacking midfielder initially needed time to adjust physically.

"He needed a few weeks and a few games because he arrived from Italy without much match sharpness. He's training really well at the moment and is highly motivated."

Demichelis explained.

Demichelis also clarified the player's tactical role.

"Bremen was the only game in which he played through the middle as our most advanced player. It's not his preferred position, but I think he can play there. Ultimately, though, his position doesn't change much about what he can do. He has a lot of quality on the ball."

Martin Demichelis on Christo's role.

In other matches, Christo has operated behind the striker, a role the coach believes allows him to make better use of his technical ability.

Competition At Right Back

Demichelis also confirmed that Ridle Baku has returned from international duty fully fit.

The German international will compete with Benjamin Henrichs for the right-back position, with both players available ahead of a demanding run of fixtures.

"Benny had a good pre-season and is in very good form as well, but regardless of who plays, everyone has to perform at their best."

The coach said.

That competition will become increasingly important as Die Roten Bullen prepare to play every three or four days throughout October.

After Frankfurt, the club faces PSV Eindhoven, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid in quick succession.

Demichelis knows the significance of that schedule, but he is refusing to look beyond Saturday.

"Right now, our sole focus is on Frankfurt. We'll think about the next game after that."

Martin Demichelis remains focused on Frankfurt

With a potential club record on the line and expectations rising, the Frankfurt match represents more than another opportunity to collect three points.

It is Demichelis' first chance after the international break to show that Leipzig are moving in the right direction.

From here the stage only gets bigger.
