Ajax are stepping up their efforts to sign a replacement for Mika Godts, and the club are currently in the process of finalising its shortlist of targets.
Mika Godts has officially completed his transfer from Ajax to Paris Saint-Germain. The Belgian winger, who spent over three years at Ajax, has joined the reigning European champions for a fixed fee of €45 million, plus €10 million in potential bonuses.
Ajax want to strengthen the attack before the transfer window closes. The club have already signed two strikers in Marcos Leonardo and Tolu Arokodare. Jordi Cruijff is now looking to strengthen the flanks, with both a left winger and right winger on the club's agenda.
Roony Bardghji was identified as a potential target to strengthen the right-hand side, but the Swedish winger suffered a serious injury in training and will therefore be staying at Barcelona this summer.
For the left wing, Ajax have held talks about bringing Noa Lang back to the club, and the Napoli winger is certainly on Ajax's list of targets. Reports claim that Napoli want €15 million for Lang, but he is also keen on a move to Galatasaray. He isn't at the top of Galatasaray's shortlist, but they may attempt to sign him if they fail to land their top targets.
Ajax exploring move for Danjuma
Another name on Ajax's shortlist for the left wing is Arnaut Danjuma.
According to Soccer News, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven have Danjuma on their radar. Both Dutch top clubs have recently enquired multiple times about the 29-year-old.
Danjuma is on Ajax’s shortlist to replace Godts. Ajax have explored the market and are currently assessing which options are feasible and suitable. Danjuma would be open to joining Ajax.
As of now, Ajax are only exploring a deal for Danjuma, and no offer has been made yet. There are also no concrete negotiations ongoing between the two clubs. However, should Ajax ultimately decide to pursue a deal for Danjuma, current indications suggest things could move quickly.
Ajax are now aware of the forward's salary demands and is also aware of Valencia's willingness to cooperate on a transfer. Valencia would be open to selling the Dutchman for a few million euros.
Danjuma spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Girona, where he worked with current Ajax head coach Michel Sanchez.
Lang should be the priority
There was a time Danjuma was an excellent player, but he has struggled to find form and consistency since leaving Villarreal.
He wouldn't be a bad signing to add depth to the squad, but he shouldn't be seen as a player who should start the majority of games.
Noa Lang had a difficult 2025/26 season, but he was incredible for PSV and has the quality to play a big role in helping Ajax win the Eredivisie title.
Ajax need someone with proven quality to replace Godts, and Lang fits that profile.
