Ajax want to sign potentially five more players before the summer transfer window closes, but a big focus for Jordi Cruijff in the coming weeks will be on selling players.

Mika Godts is set to depart for Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth €55 million. Ahmetcan Kaplan is also now set to join NEC Nijmegen after spending last season there on loan. According to reports, Ajax will receive a minimum of €2.5 million for the Turkish defender.

Ajax would also like to sell Josip Sutalo and Ko Itakura. Should both of them leave, Ajax will try to sign a right-sided centre-back. Ajax are exploring a deal to sign Lutsharel Geertruida, who can play at centre-back, right-back, and also as a no. 6.

With Ajax close to completing the signing of Jofre Torrents from Barcelona, they would also like to sell Owen Wijndal.

In attack, Oliver Edvardsen and Kasper Dolberg could both leave. Dolberg has struggled for form since rejoining Ajax. Following the arrivals of Marcos Leonardo and Tolu Arokodare, his minutes will likely also be quite limited. Ajax are also in the market for new wingers, which could see Edvardsen's minutes also limited.

Benfica have been exploring the market for a replacement for Antonio Silva, who joined Premier League outfit AFC Bournemouth.

The Portuguese giants are said to have a long-standing interest in Ajax defender Josip Sutalo. They have also been linked to Chelsea's Tosin Adarabioyo and PSV Eindhoven's Ryan Flamingo.

Despite interest in those three centre-backs, Marco Silva's side are now pushing ahead wth a move for Southampton's Taylor Harwood-Bellis.

According to The Athletic, Benfica have made a €20 million offer for Harwood-Bellis, and that offer has been rejected by Southampton.

However, the Saints are open to letting the centre-back go if their valuation is met, and Marco Silva is a big admirer of the player. Harwood-Bellis himself is keen on a move to Lisbon.

Despite Benfica pursuing a deal for Harwood-Bellis, it is still very possible Sutalo will depart the Johan Cruijff ArenA in the coming weeks.

Ajax want to sell him, and in addition to Benfica, there are other clubs interested. He has been linked to Lazio, and at least one club from the Premier League is also said to be monitoring his situation.

It is also possible Benfica could still move for Sutalo. It is unclear what their budget is for a new centre-back and whether they can meet Southampton's demands for Harwood-Bellis, but Sutalo would be significantly cheaper than the Southampton defender. Ajax are said to want around €15 million for the Croatian defender, potentially even slightly less.
