PSV striker Mikkel Bro Hansen has received international recognition after being named among the 60 greatest young talents in world football by English newspaper The Guardian.

The Danish forward joined PSV from Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt last month in a deal worth approximately €3 million. Although he has primarily featured for Jong PSV so far, an injury to Alassane Pléa has allowed the teenager to be registered for the Champions League.

Bro Hansen attracted interest from several major European clubs last summer, including Barcelona, but ultimately chose to continue his development in Eindhoven.

The Guardian, as relayed by PSV Inside, praised his technical ability and football intelligence, writing: “The striker can shoot cleanly and powerfully with both feet, is very agile and has good game sense.”

Bodø/Glimt coach Kjetil Knutsen also highlighted his attitude, describing him as “committed, with an understanding of football and an enormous work ethic”.

Jong PSV coach Stijn Schaars previously expressed optimism about the youngster’s potential after the match against Jong AZ on 14 September.

“You can see that he has specific qualities; I am definitely positive about that,” Schaars told ESPN. He also highlighted Bro Hansen’s movement, finishing instincts and ability to hold up the ball, while acknowledging that there are areas of his game still to improve.
