PSV have completed the signing of highly rated Danish forward Mikkel Bro Hansen from Bodø/Glimt, with the 17-year-old signing a three-year contract in Eindhoven.

Bro Hansen will wear the number 23 shirt and arrives at PSV with an impressive record despite his age. The striker has already made 15 official appearances for Bodø/Glimt's first team, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.

His record at the international youth level is equally striking. Representing Denmark Under-17s, the player from Lystrup has scored 13 goals in 16 matches, further underlining why he is regarded as one of the country's most promising young forwards.

PSV Director of Football Earnest Stewart revealed that the club had been monitoring Bro Hansen for an extended period before stepping up their pursuit in recent months.

“We are incredibly pleased that Mikkel has chosen PSV,” says Stewart. “We’ve been following him for a long time, and our contact has intensified in recent months. We see Mikkel as a player with enormous potential and are fully confident that he can continue to develop in the best possible way at PSV.”

Stewart believes Bro Hansen's maturity and performances at senior level have made him stand out among players of his age.

“For his age, he’s already remarkably advanced. He possesses scoring ability, moves intelligently off the ball, and displays a great deal of energy and conviction in his play. In addition, he has already gained experience at a high level at a young age, which speaks volumes about his qualities and mentality.”

The PSV director also highlighted the impression the young striker made during discussions with the club.

“Mikkel knows exactly what he wants, which we also noticed in the many conversations we’ve had recently.”

Bro Hansen completed the formalities at PSV Campus De Herdgang, signing his contract in the presence of his family and representatives.

The teenager said the decision to move to Eindhoven became straightforward once PSV presented their development plan.

“For me, it was an easy choice when PSV told me they were interested in me,” said the new signing. “It’s a big club, and they had a perfect plan for my future laid out for me. And in the past, they’ve proven here that they can make that happen.”

Bro Hansen specifically pointed to PSV's record of developing young players into established professionals.

“Just look at guys like Xavi Simons, Noni Madueke, Ismael Saibari, and so on.”

The Danish forward will join PSV's first-team squad on a full-time basis, while also gaining regular match experience with PSV U21.

“I’ll be joining the first team full-time. Initially, I’ll be playing matches for PSV U21, but I’m going to push for as many minutes as possible with the first team. I can’t wait to get started.”

PSV's pursuit of Bro Hansen was not a late decision. PSV watcher Rik Elfrink reported that Stewart and the club's scouting department had been tracking the forward for a long time, with contact intensifying during the past few months.

The €3 million deal reflects PSV's willingness to invest in a player they believe has significant room for development.

For Bro Hansen, the move represents the next stage of a career that has already progressed rapidly. He now arrives in Eindhoven with senior experience, a strong international scoring record and a clear pathway between Jong PSV and the first team.
