PSV were among the most active clubs on the final day of the summer transfer window, reshaping the squad with new arrivals, departures and a long-term commitment to one of their brightest young talents.

The reigning Eredivisie champions completed the signings of Ayoni Santos and Sam Lammers. The club also sanctioned several departures, secured the future of Amir Bouhamdi with a new long-term contract and could yet see another player leave before the window is completely closed.

PSV also secured one of the more intriguing young signings of the window in Mikkel Bro Hansen.

As the deadline day in the Netherlands came to a close, Sven Mijnans, Filip Kostić, Kodai Sano, Lutsharel Geertruida, Sami Ouaissa, Ayoni Santos and Sam Lammers had been officially presented as the club's newly signed players in the summer transfer window of 2026.

PSV have completed the signing of Sam Lammers, with the 29-year-old forward becoming the club's seventh new player of the summer transfer window.

Sam Lammers has now officially been presented as a PSV player, with the Eindhoven club reaching an agreement with FC Twente for the permanent transfer of the 29-year-old striker.

Lammers has signed a two-season contract with PSV and will wear the number 29 shirt, bringing the forward back to the club where his professional journey began.

“This really feels like coming home,” Sam asserted after entering PSV Campus De Herdgang.

Lammers came through PSV's youth academy before eventually breaking into the first team. In September 2020, the Brabant-born striker left the club for Italian side Atalanta, beginning a journey that would take him across several European leagues.

After his spell in Italy, Lammers played for Eintracht Frankfurt, Empoli, Sampdoria, Rangers FC, FC Utrecht and FC Twente.

PSV Director of Football Affairs Earnest Stewart revealed that Lammers was at the top of the club's list as they searched for another option up front.

“We were still looking for a strong addition for the striker position and Sam was at the top of everyone's list,” says Stewart.

PSV have secured the long-term future of Amir Bouhamdi, with the 18-year-old forward signing a new contract that will keep him at the Eindhoven club until mid-2031.

The Limburg-born attacker, who has Moroccan roots, has enjoyed a rapid rise into PSV's first-team picture in recent months. A verbal agreement had already been reached, but the new deal has now been formally signed.

“A lot has been going on for me in recent months, but I’m trying to stay calm and, above all, keep working incredibly hard,” says Bouhamdi. “I feel the trust coming from all levels of the club and am trying to repay that by making my mark.”

The teenager is also conscious that his breakthrough is only the beginning of his development.

“At the same time, I realize very well that I still have a lot to learn, and I’m going to do everything I can to reach my full potential in the coming years. This contract extension is a wonderful milestone, one I’m immensely proud of.”

“Amir has been a source of inspiration for many youth players so far,” says Stewart. “He works hard, is open to feedback, and remains calm amid all the attention he’s currently receiving. That’s an important quality for a young player.”

In other news, as reported by PSV Watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad, PSV will pay Sparta €4.75 million for Ayoni Santos, with a further €500,000 potentially due in bonuses.  

Isaac Babadi is close to joining Sparta Rotterdam on loan, and 19-year-old right-back Essiën Bassey is completing a permanent move to Viking Stavanger.

PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad reports Babadi is expected to join Sparta on Wednesday. The 21-year-old midfielder has fallen out of favour at PSV in recent years and is now looking for a new opportunity to continue his development in the Eredivisie.

Sparta will take on part of Babadi's salary, although the Rotterdam club cannot cover the midfielder's full wages. He remains contracted to PSV until mid-2028, while technical director Earnest Stewart has cooperated in finding a solution.

PSV are also parting ways with Essiën Bassey, who is moving permanently to Norwegian club Viking Stavanger. Bassey is signing a four-year contract in Norway.

Rik Elfrink reports that the 19-year-old Jong PSV right-back had an option to extend his PSV contract but has instead chosen an adventure abroad. The move carries an unusual subplot, with PSV scheduled to face Viking in the Champions League this January.

PSV are set to receive just over €1 million for the full-back, and the club retains a matching right (and can therefore outbid any future offer for him).

As of 8PM CET, Bassey has signed until mid-2030. De Graafschap will also receive a modest training compensation fee.

With regard to further outgoings, PSV are dealing with the transfers of Joel Van den Berg and Esmir Bajraktarevic, while Adamo Nagalo is dealing with fitness issues which rules out any move for him. 

Mikkel Bro Hansen is in Eindhoven, and his medical examination has already started this morning. PSV is trying to get everything arranged today to finalise his transfer before the window closes at 24:00 CET.

Rik Elfrink reports at 4:10PM CET that PSV will sign another player today: Lyfe Oldenstam, who is a 19-year-old right-back, is transferring from Como.

Sam Lammers' signing was confirmed officially by PSV at 5:32PM CET with Sam asserting, “This really feels like coming home,” upon entering PSV Campus De Herdgang.

Lammers is PSV's seventh signing in this transfer window.

Rik Elfrink has reported that PSV will finalise the signings of 17-year-old striker Mikkel Bro Hansen and 19-year-old Lyffe Oldenstam on Wednesday evening. Both players have already undergone medical examinations. Oldenstam will cost PSV only his salary, as he was not currently under contract with another club.

The 17-year-old Danish striker joins from Bodø/Glimt, who had hoped to retain the highly rated forward. PSV Watcher Rik Eflrink of Eindhovens Dagblad reported PSV agreed to a fee of €3 million and handed Bro Hansen a three-year contract.

The deal had been in preparation for months and was helped by the connections of Director of Football Earnest Stewart and the team led by chief scout Thomas Schaling.

Bro Hansen was registered with the KNVB late Wednesday evening and is set to be officially unveiled on Thursday morning.
