Former PSV striker Joël Piroe will spend the season with West Ham United after joining the Championship club on loan from Leeds United. The Hammers also have the option to make his move permanent next summer.
Joël Piroe has completed a loan move to West Ham United, with the former PSV striker set to spend at least the upcoming season in East London.
West Ham were relegated from the Premier League last season and will now compete in the Championship, with Piroe arriving from Leeds United to strengthen their attack.
The Dutch forward is already looking forward to the challenge and believes he can play an important role in helping the club return to the Premier League.
"I am very happy to be here and I am completely ready. I think West Ham belongs in the Premier League. I can enormously help the club with my experience to achieve their goals," Piroe said in an interview with the club's official channels.
"I see this as a great opportunity to show what I have learned and how I have developed over the past few years."

Piroe will wear the number nine shirt during his time with West Ham, who have also negotiated an option to sign the striker permanently once the loan spell concludes.
The move represents another chapter in a career that began at PSV. Piroe made his senior debut for the Eindhoven club in December 2020 under then-manager Roger Schmidt.
He left PSV for Swansea City in the summer of 2021 and spent two seasons with the Welsh club before moving to Leeds United.
Piroe subsequently played a major role in Leeds' return to the Premier League in 2025. He finished the Championship season as the division's top scorer, while Leeds secured the title and promotion to the top flight.
His goalscoring record at that level will now be tested again as West Ham attempt to recover from relegation.

For Piroe, the move provides an opportunity to remain in the Championship while taking on a central role at a club with an immediate ambition to return to the Premier League.
West Ham will hope the striker can reproduce the form that made him the Championship's leading scorer with Leeds and provide the goals required for their promotion push.
With the option to make the deal permanent after the season, the upcoming campaign could prove significant for both Piroe and the London club.
