Lutsharel Geertruida has arrived in the Netherlands ahead of his proposed move to PSV, but his medical examination has been delayed. One outstanding point must still be resolved before the loan transfer can progress.
Lutsharel Geertruida's move to PSV has hit another delay, with the defender still waiting to undergo his medical examination despite an agreement in principle between PSV and RB Leipzig.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday evening that the clubs had reached an agreement over an initial loan deal with an option to buy. PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad subsequently confirmed the development.
German journalist Philipp Hinze of Sky Sports Deutschland then reported on Wednesday morning that Geertruida was expected to complete his medical that day.
That has not happened yet.

Geertruida Waiting For Medical
The Netherlands international has arrived in the Netherlands, but the final stages of the transfer remain incomplete. According to De Telegraaf as quoted by PSV Inside, one outstanding point still needs to be resolved before the medical can take place.
The exact point of concern has not been disclosed.
Despite the delay, there remains confidence among the parties that the transfer will ultimately be completed.
"In the vicinity of both clubs and the player, the expectation is that everything will ultimately work out, but the final stretch can weigh heavily," PSV watcher Jeroen Kapteijns reported.
That caution is understandable given PSV's experiences during the current transfer window. Several deals have encountered complications late in the process, including the proposed departures of Ricardo Pepi, Armando Obispo and Couhaib Driouech.
PSV Remain Confident
The broad agreement remains unchanged, with Geertruida expected to join PSV on loan from RB Leipzig with a purchase option.
However, until the remaining issue is resolved and the medical is completed, the transfer cannot be regarded as fully finalised.
The delay is therefore another reminder that agreements in principle do not necessarily mean a deal is immediately complete.
PSV have been pursuing Geertruida for weeks and had already reached a personal agreement with the defender. The 26-year-old is keen on the move to Eindhoven, and PSV view him as an important addition to Peter Bosz's defence.
The proposed arrival has also generated a strong reaction from Geertruida's former club Feyenoord. The defender previously captained the Rotterdam side before moving to RB Leipzig, and news of his potential switch to PSV has not been well received by sections of the Feyenoord support.
For now, though, the focus remains on the outstanding formalities. Geertruida is in the Netherlands; PSV and Leipzig have agreed on the broad terms, and confidence remains that the transfer will be completed.
The medical, however, still has to happen.
