Paul Wanner wants to become a more influential figure for PSV this season after taking time to establish himself under Peter Bosz. The midfielder says he must be more visible during matches as he looks to continue developing in Eindhoven.
Paul Wanner is entering his second season at PSV with a clear objective: become a more dependable and prominent part of Peter Bosz's team.
The German-born midfielder joined PSV from Bayern Munich for around €15 million last season, but it took time before he secured a regular starting place under Bosz. Now, after a year of adapting to life in Eindhoven, Wanner believes he can make a greater impact.
The 20-year-old also made an important international decision during the past year, choosing to represent Austria after progressing through Germany's youth teams. Wanner featured for Austria at the World Cup in North America, where they reached the last 16 before eventually losing 3-0 to eventual champions Spain.

Wanner has settled comfortably in Eindhoven and sees PSV as a place where he can continue to develop.
"At PSV, I want to stay longer than at my previous clubs. I really feel very good here, I'm perfectly in my place, and I can still develop fully," Wanner told Eindhovens Dagblad.
The midfielder already knows where he wants to improve. For Wanner, the next step is not simply about earning more minutes but becoming someone his teammates can depend on throughout a match.
"During our matches, I need to be more visible. My teammates should always be able to rely on me, in both difficult and easy phases," he said, as quoted by PSV Inside.

Wanner's international switch to Austria has added another dimension to his development. His experience at the World Cup gave him an opportunity to test himself on the biggest stage, but the midfielder remains focused on improving rather than setting a fixed limit on what he can achieve.
"In football, you always have to aim for more and better. Where it takes me, I’ll see in the future," Wanner said.
Boadu Seeks Redemption After PSV Spell Ends
In other news, Myron Boadu is searching for the next chapter of his career after his difficult spell at PSV came to an end.
The forward spent last season on loan with the Eindhoven club after Alassane Pléa suffered a serious injury early in the campaign. Boadu was brought in as cover but struggled to establish himself, with injuries again disrupting his season.
He subsequently trained with Peter Bosz's squad during pre-season and travelled with PSV on their training camp, but the club ultimately decided not to offer him a new contract.
Speaking to De Telegraaf, Boadu admitted that the decision still caught him by surprise.
“I just want to play football. Of course I had taken it into account, but it still came as a surprise,” Boadu said, as quoted by PSV Inside.
The striker's career has been affected by injuries, but the pressure surrounding his move to AS Monaco in 2021 also proved significant.
Boadu joined Monaco from AZ for a reported €20 million fee, a figure that he felt followed him onto the pitch.
“If I made a bad pass during a possession game, I thought: for a guy like that, they haven't paid twenty million,” he said.
The forward endured further difficult periods at Monaco before later moving through other challenges, including a spell at VfL Bochum. His time at PSV followed a similar pattern, with fitness problems limiting his opportunities.
Boadu, however, remains convinced that his best football is still ahead of him.
‘My Next Club Will Get A Striker In Top Form’
The 25-year-old believes his record when fully fit demonstrates what he can offer.
“In the periods when I was fit, as later also at Bochum, I made goals. My next club will get a striker who is in top form and goes after redemption,” Boadu said confidently.
That search for a new club now represents another opportunity for the former AZ forward to rebuild his career. His immediate priority is straightforward: regular football and the chance to regain the consistency that injuries have repeatedly interrupted.
For PSV, meanwhile, the decision leaves Bosz's squad looking towards other attacking options as the club continues its preparations for the new campaign.
