Joey Veerman’s future at PSV is entering a decisive phase, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly showing serious interest. The midfielder has also indicated that a move to Germany would appeal to him.
The situation surrounding Joey Veerman appears to be changing quickly, with Borussia Dortmund emerging as a serious contender for the PSV midfielder.
After five seasons in Eindhoven, the Volendam native could now be approaching the final days of his PSV career.
Veerman produced another reminder of his quality during Saturday night's 2-1 victory over Excelsior. The midfielder repeatedly found teammates with incisive passes and controlled the game with the authority of a player aware that his future could soon be decided.
It may ultimately prove to have been his final appearance for PSV.

According to Voetbal International as relayed by PSV Inside, Borussia Dortmund's interest in Veerman is now “very serious.” The German club's head coach Niko Kovac and sporting director Nils-Ole Book are reportedly both admirers of the Dutchman.
That represents a significant development after reports earlier this weekend from Germany suggested that Veerman was not particularly highly regarded by those in charge at Dortmund. Both BILD and Ruhr Nachrichten had previously played down the possibility of a move.
The latest information paints a different picture.
“Coach Peter Bosz would like to keep Veerman on board, but if Dortmund decides to exercise the option in the contract, then Bosz and PSV have nothing to want,” Voetbal International reports.
The publication adds that Kovac has internally expressed a desire to bring Veerman to Dortmund, while Book is also said to be a major admirer of the midfielder.

PSV's position could therefore become increasingly difficult if Dortmund decides to act.
According to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink, Veerman indicated after the Excelsior match on ESPN that he would certainly like to move to Borussia Dortmund.
However, time is becoming a factor. Dortmund would need to move quickly if they want to secure the midfielder under the terms currently available.
Elfrink reports that the situation is relatively straightforward: Dortmund need to put €20 million on the table and have only a few days remaining to make the deal happen.
That figure is particularly significant because Veerman's contractual clause allows him to leave for approximately €20m before its deadline. Once that period expires, PSV would regain greater control over negotiations.
For Peter Bosz, the timing could hardly be more delicate. The PSV coach has repeatedly valued Veerman's technical quality and ability to dictate possession, while the midfielder has remained one of the club's most creative players.
But with Dortmund's interest now reportedly serious and Veerman himself receptive to the move, the long-running transfer saga may finally be approaching its conclusion.
The next few days could determine whether Veerman begins a new chapter in Germany or remains in Eindhoven for another season.
