The PSV manager maintained a disciplined silence regarding the striker’s animated antics as a late collapse in Enschede shattered his side’s unbeaten start to the league campaign.
Peter Bosz refused to be drawn into a discussion about Wout Weghorst’s behaviour after PSV suffered a 3-2 defeat to FC Twente at the Grolsch Veste.
Weghorst played a significant role in the match, scoring Twente’s second goal as the hosts completed a late comeback against the reigning Eredivisie champions.
The Twente striker was an animated presence throughout the afternoon, with his actions before the match, during the game and after the final whistle attracting attention.
However, Bosz made it clear in the press room that he had no intention of becoming involved in a debate about the forward.
Asked about Weghorst by De Telegraaf journalist Jeroen Kapteijns, the PSV head coach kept his response brief.
“I’m not going to say anything about that. I’m being sensible now.”
It was a pointed response from Bosz, who chose not to elaborate despite the question being directed specifically at Weghorst’s conduct.

As relayed by PSV Inside, Kapteijns has previously been critical of Weghorst’s conduct and again drew attention to the striker’s behaviour around the start of the second half.
For Bosz, however, the subject was clearly one he preferred to leave alone.
PSV’s immediate concern is instead the result. The 3-2 defeat ended their unbeaten start to the league campaign and highlighted defensive problems that Bosz acknowledged after the match.
With the international break now providing an opportunity to regroup, the PSV coach opted to keep his post-match focus on the football rather than become involved in a debate over Weghorst’s personality or behaviour.
