PSV Eindhoven have reportedly moved ahead in the race for Azzedine Ounahi, with Girona now negotiating with the Dutch champions after receiving a formal offer for the Moroccan midfielder.

PSV have taken a concrete step towards signing Azzedine Ounahi, with negotiations now underway between the Eindhoven club and Girona, according to an exclusive report from Mundo Deportivo.

The Moroccan international has been linked with several clubs throughout the summer, but PSV have now emerged as the leading contender for his signature after submitting an offer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, talks between PSV and Girona are already taking place as the two clubs attempt to reach an agreement before further suitors can intervene.

PSV's proposal does not reach Ounahi's €25 million release clause. However, there is optimism at Girona that an agreement could still be reached for a substantial fee, particularly given the midfielder's profile and the attention he attracted during the World Cup.
