The Dutch giants put a price tag on Esmir Bajraktarević as European suitors circle, while Ruben van Bommel’s explosive return from injury cements his status as a key starter.
PSV are reportedly open to selling Esmir Bajraktarević before the transfer window closes, with Eintracht Frankfurt and Benfica among the clubs linked.
Meanwhile, Ruben van Bommel’s outstanding return has earned fresh praise from Mike Verweij.
PSV appear prepared to part ways with Esmir Bajraktarević if the right offer arrives, according to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad.
The Bosnian winger joined PSV from New England Revolution in January 2025 for around €3 million but has struggled to establish himself as a regular under Peter Bosz. His contract runs until mid-2029.
According to Elfrink as relayed by PSV Inside, PSV would currently prefer a permanent transfer for Bajraktarević. Eintracht Frankfurt and Benfica are reportedly among the clubs that could have an interest, although the strength of that interest remains unclear.
“PSV would prefer to sell Esmir Bajraktarevic at this moment. If clubs with (potential) interest (such as Eintracht Frankfurt or Benfica) want something, that's the asking price right now. The final days of the transfer window can of course still bring a lot of changes.”

Ivan Perišić has moved from the left flank to the right, while Dennis Man remains ahead of Bajraktarević in Bosz’s thinking. The Bosnian has made only one appearance this season, coming off the bench in PSV’s 0-4 Johan Cruyff Shield defeat to AZ Alkmaar.
His limited opportunities contrast with his importance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he has shown considerably more of his attacking qualities.
Meanwhile, Van Bommel has quickly become one of the biggest stories of PSV’s season.
The winger was outstanding in the 5-1 victory over FC Groningen, contributing to four of the five goals before being replaced by Amir Bouhamdi in the 67th minute. The Philips Stadion crowd responded with a huge ovation and chants of Van Bommel’s name.
De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij has now gone as far as calling him PSV’s “best acquisition” of the campaign.
“Before he got injured last year, he was already making a good impression. And of course he still has a lot to learn. In the meantime, I have been in touch with Mark van Bommel, and he also said: ‘Things are very calm during his recovery, but he is coming back incredibly strong’. You see that quite often in people with a serious knee injury,” Verweij said on the Kick-off podcast, as quoted by PSV Inside.
Van Bommel joined PSV from AZ for €15 million and initially impressed before suffering a serious knee injury against Ajax on 21 September 2025.
Verweij believes PSV are now reaping the benefits of their earlier investment.
“I think this is, for the time being, the best ‘signing’ that PSV has made.”
As the transfer window enters its final days, Bajraktarević’s future remains one to watch, while Van Bommel’s return has provided Bosz with another attacking option and a player currently enjoying a prominent role in Eindhoven.
