Real Madrid are definitely looking to end this miserable season as quickly as possible before going back to the drawing board, as the uncertainty around Kylian Mbappé continues.
Real Madrid now looks more like a house of cards with each passing day, as a massive sense of uncertainty has been growing inside the club throughout the season.
Los Blancos seemingly had a powerful start to their campaign under new manager Xabi Alonso as they were doing reasonably well both in La Liga and the Champions League, but almost out of the blue, there came a sudden wave of dislike towards Alonso during the final days of December as he was ultimately relieved of his duties following the Spanish Super Cup final defeat against FC Barcelona.
Back then, everyone around Los Blancos believed that a change in the managerial position would solve all their pressing issues, but as the season reached its final stages, broader problems within the club began to surface with each passing day.
Now, as the Whites are all set to finish yet another season without winning any major trophy, Florentino Perez's presser last night felt more like a damage control measure rather than any constructive words from the long-time President.
With only three games left to play this season, the Mbappé issue still seems to linger, as, prior to their game against Real Oviedo, manager Alvaro Arbeloa issued an uncertain update on the 27-year-old's availability for the game at the Bernabéu.
The Real Madrid manager talked about Mbappe, saying (h/t Madrid Zone), "Will Kylian Mbappe play? It depends on how he feels. He completed training yesterday, and if he completes another one, I hope he can play the next game and the other remaining ones, score goals, and show the commitment he has for this team."
Mbappe was excluded from the Los Merengues' squad for the El Clásico as the Whites faced a 2-0 defeat at Camp Nou. Apparently, ahead of the game against Oviedo, the picture remains a bit blurry despite the visuals of the World Cup winner enjoying himself at the Valdebebas made the rounds on the internet.
The Frenchman might already be looking forward to the World Cup, which is set to commence next month. As a result, he could look to avoid any injuries in the final games left to play, which certainly won't change anything for Los Blancos this season, but his absence could further dampen his image amongst the fans if he still desires to continue with the Whites next season.
