A former manager has now given his opinion regarding Real Madrid's current problems, as he suggests Los Blancos should let go of Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid are currently going through one of the most challenging phases in their recent history, as they have not only failed to win trophies but have also seen the integrity of the club come under scrutiny over the past few months.

As recently expressed by Los Blancos president Florentino Perez, the spats in the dressing room have been leaked repeatedly, and the cracks are now clearly visible to fans.

The Santiago Bernabéu faithful are definitely not liking what they are experiencing at the moment; as a result, their anger and frustration towards some of their key players are not entirely unjustified.

A player who has seemingly drawn more abhorrence than the others is Los Merengues' top scorer, Kylian Mbappé, as fans are now demanding the Frenchman's exit from Los Blancos despite his goalscoring accolades this season.

Apparently former Atletico Madrid manager, Jorge D’Alessandro concurs with the Los Blancos fans as Marca (h/t TEAMTalk) quoted the Argentine saying, "I would sell him(Mbappe) and buy what I need: A centre back with guarantees and a striker, a No. 9 who isn’t Mbappe, but gives me what PSG is getting, what Bayern Munich is getting, the teams that dominate Europe."

D'Alessandro also talked about who Madrid can bring in as their new number nine if they let go of the 27-year-old, saying, "If I had someone who would buy Mbappe, I could buy Haaland."

With Jose Mourinho now pipped as the most likely candidate to be at the wheel of the Whites, reports of the Portuguese manager's dislike of Mbappé have been making the rounds in various outlets recently.

Despite the French international being Los Blancos' most sought-after signing recently, the idea of a departure from the Spanish capital after spending only two seasons at the prestigious club, with three years still left in his contract.

When compared to Haaland's stats this season, Mbappe certainly has the edge over the Norwegian as the Los Blancos talisman has now scored 41 goals in all competitions this season, compared to Haaland's tally of 37, and Mbappe will also end this season's Champions League campaign as the top scorer with 15 goals, while Haaland has found the net only eight times in Europe this season.

One might argue the fact that scoring goals in the Premier League is harder than in La Liga, and letting Mbappe leave could bring back order inside the Real Madrid dressing room, but whoever takes charge of Los Blancos after the end of this current campaign should not completely turn a blind eye to the World Cup winner's all-around abilities in the attack.
