Former Real Madrid Player Issues Important Piece of Advice for Jose Mourinho

The start of the summer for Real Madrid was marked by the return of Jose Mourinho as their new manager following their poor display in back-to-back campaigns.

The Whites find themselves in a situation similar to 2010, when Mourinho was brought in as their new head coach, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and Benzema already signed the previous summer.

On one hand, Los Blancos were struggling to keep pace with their rivals, Barcelona, and on the other, Manuel Pellegrini failed to utilize their superstar signings to their fullest.

This time around, the stakes are quite similar, as Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa's failure to manage this star-studded squad to glory has left Los Merengues with no choice but to finance the return of their former manager to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Apparently, one of Los Blancos' former stars has issued an important piece of advice to the Portuguese manager before he takes charge of the dressing room.

As mentioned by Gareth Bale, while speaking to The Athletic (h/t GOAL), Mourinho will have to solve a problem where he is an expert, as the Welshman pointed out, saying, "At a big club like Madrid, you don’t need to really coach. You need to manage egos. That’s why he’s been so successful at the biggest clubs.

Bale also added, "He also has that experience. He only prods to get the best out of you. He’ll try to figure each player out and find whatever it takes to make them tick. Sometimes it might be (prodding) someone in the media, sometimes it might be just putting an arm around them. Jose has been in Madrid; he understands the dynamic, and he knows how things work. He’ll be putting a plan together to make that work."

Certainly, there is a big task waiting ahead for Mourinho following the culmination of the World Cup, but as mentioned by the former Real Madrid forward, the Portuguese veteran has the experience of managing much bigger egos during his previous stints at other big European clubs.

There is a general feeling amongst every Los Blancos fan that Mourinho is the only man available in the current scenario, who has a solution to all of their dressing room problems, as the previous campaign saw a lot of things go wrong with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Fede Valverde pulling in different directions.

The Whites need a collective effort forward in order to bring back the glory days at the Bernabeu, but apart from the man management, Mourinho is now looking to build a strong squad during this summer transfer window and then go into pre-season with a more cohesive Los Blancos side.
