According to reports on Wednesday afternoon, incoming Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has told the club about six players he is ready to get rid of
Once this Sunday's presidential elections have taken place, Real Madrid will announce Jose Mourinho's return to the club, 13 years after he departed.
There is already plenty of excitement from within the fanbase, particularly for the transfer window ahead. The club are wasting no time to back Mourinho, with the signings of Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan and Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool (as a free agent) already close, as per reports.
When there is a rebuild, outgoings are just as important as incomings, so we can expect players to depart the Spanish capital this summer. Well, we may have an idea on five players that could leave.
Indeed, as it being reported by journalist Ramon Alvarez that Mourinho is not counting on the following six first team players; Eduardo Camavinga, Rodyrgo, Franco Mastantuono, Raul Ascencio, Dani Ceballos and Fran Garcia.
With the latter four, that does not sound too surprising. However, with Camavinga and Rodrygo, it has certainly raised a few eyebrows - if true. The Frenchman feels like the sort of midfielder that the 63-year old likes. Hard working, tenacious, a team player, able to fill in in other positions with a minimum of fuss. Admittedly, he has not kicked on as liked or expected, but it felt like the boss would rate him as a player.
As for Rodrygo, for similar reasons, he felt like a Mourinho forward. He has always been a team player. Someone who will do the running for two players. Someone who will play anywhere in the attack that he is asked to do. And someone who chips in with goals in big games.
His case is particularly tough to judge, considering he suffered an ACL injury a couple of months back, and it feels like he will have done well if he returns to the pitch this calendar year.
Perhaps, it is a case of Mourinho feeling like he will not return to his physical best when he returns. Hard to say. Again, this is all depending on the report being correct. There is also talk that the Portuguese manager is a big fan of Endrick, so perhaps he wants him to complete the attacking quartet with Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius and Jude Bellingham.
Even more so than before, this would mean that there is no room for Mastantuono, so the report checks out when it comes to him. Still, at a young age, it would feel risky to give up on him completelty, so perhaps a loan is in order.
To go back to the other players - it was reported yesterday that the club were closing in on a fee being agreed with Ajax for Ceballos, however talk today has suggested that the player himself is not so keen, so that is one to keep an eye on. It is hard to see a future at the club for either him or F. Garcia.
