The former Real Madrid coach also discussed other potential candidates who could be appointed next season.

Alvaro Arbeloa's future at Real Madrid remains uncertain, and the club has already been linked to several high-profile managers over the past few weeks.

We all know about the fact that going trophyless at Los Blancos feels like a crime, and only a few managers have been able to stay on for another year at the club after failing to win any major silverware during a campaign, as Xabi Alonso, who was appointed last summer, had to leave midway through the season after a series of poor results.

As it stands, Arbeloa has failed to address Los Blancos' problems so far, as they were knocked out of the Champions League quarter-finals by Bayern Munich and are currently 11 points adrift of league leaders Barcelona in La Liga.

As a result, chances of winning any major trophy this campaign seem all but over for the Merengues, and Arbeloa's future at the club could already be up for discussion.

The Whites have been linked with the likes of Didier Deschamps, Jose Mourinho, and Jurgen Klopp for a move in the upcoming summer to take control of the dressing room, which currently looks like a mess.

Amidst all this, former Real Madrid manager Jorge Valdano has seemingly given his verdict on the probable candidates while speaking on Movistar+ (h/t MARCA).

Valdano spoke highly of Deschamps as he talked about the French national side head coach, saying, "Deschamps may be the right choice because here are Tchouameni and Camavinga, and it is appropriate that someone comes who can make use of them. And there is Mbappe, let's not forget. We are dealing with a World Cup-winning coach."

The French manager's current contract with his national side is set to expire after the World Cup, and all signs point to a probable departure for Deschamps once the tournament ends.

As Valdano pointed out, the 57-year-old has already won the World Cup with France in 2018 and also led them to a second final in 2022, which they unfortunately lost on penalties to Argentina.

Valdano also talked about Mourinho, another former Los Blancos manager whose name has been circulating over the past few days, and, as it seems, the Argentine is not a big fan of that idea, as he brushed aside the links, saying, "It's a page from the past."

The former manager also discussed Mauricio Pochettino, Lionel Scaloni, and Klopp, but his affection for Deschamps was clearly evident in his comments, as Los Blancos' urgency regarding their future manager could be further heightened over the coming days.
