Real Madrid want to add three more signings after confirming the arrival of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea.

Real Madrid have officially announced the arrival of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea already. Some might have expected the confirmation to be delayed a bit, with Spain away at the World Cup, but Los Blancos wasted no time.

Real Madrid mean business this summer. And they are not looking likely to stop even after the Cucurella deal.

On the contrary, it appears that Real Madrid still have three more positions that they want to strengthen in this summer window.

What are those three positions? Well, according to reports, they are centre-back, midfield and forward.

We have already covered the speculation around the centre-back situation. Despite signing Konate, Real Madrid want another. Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund and Tomas Araujo of Benfica, someone Mourinho will know well, are the two being linked with Los Blancos.

Mourinho is known to build strong defensive teams. And that might be the way to go as well. Just look at Arsenal and how well they did, largely based on their defensive solidity. Defence will always be fundamental to success in football.

When it comes to the midfield position, Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea might be the clear standout.

While he has transformed into a box-crashing, goal-scoring midfielder for Chelsea, a lot of people still believe that he is at his best when used as a deep-lying playmaker, a role he often plays for Argentina.

Fernandez could be the bridge to Toni Kroos. But the £120 million transfer fee Chelsea are believed to be looking for could prove to be a stumbling block.

Other options like Mateus Fernandes of West Ham United and Rodri of Manchester City could be potential transfer targets for Real Madrid as well, if a move for Fernandez turns out to be unfeasible.

Then there is the forward area. It is hard to predict who will fill that role. Of course, the club still have both Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

So, it is pretty likely that they will continue to play Mbappe in the central role while Vinicius comes in from the left.

That means that whoever arrives as the forward would be expected to play a backup role to Mbappe. So, it is very possible that it won't be a high-profile name or a big-money signing.

Real Madrid did make a €150 million offer to try and sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid though. Then again, it is questionable how serious that attempt actually was.
