Despite news earlier this week suggesting otherwise, it has now been reported that Randal Kolo Muani will depart PSG this summer on a permanent basis.
Just a few days ago, we aggregated the news reported by Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano that Randal Kolo Muani will leave PSG this summer to join Juventus on a loan deal with an obligation to buy the player permanently next summer.
However, that does not seem to be the case anymore. Indeed not, as Romano has this evening (Saturday the 1st August 2026) reported that the Frenchman is set to join The Old Lady on a permanent deal this summer, and not on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.
He states that the club will receive an initial 38 million Euros, plus a further 12 million Euros in add ons - which you assume are conditional, based on team and individual achievements, so may or may not be activated further down the line. He will sign a five year contract with the Italian giants, and earn just over five million Euros net per season.
Interesting. You wonder what would have changed in the past few days (assuming Romano did not just get it wrong in the first place, which is not impossible), for the deal to have changed from a loan with an obligation to buy, to a straight up permanent deal.
In terms of the move in isolation, not a lot actually changes. Leaving on loan with an obligation means he would not have played for the club again anyway, the same scenario as with a permanent deal.
However, crucially, in terms of PSR etc, this is big. This means that Luis Enrique's side have a lot more money to spend this summer. Add that to the fees for Goncalo Ramos and Kang-in Lee, as well as a potential incoming fee for Bradley Barcola - likely from Premier League side Liverpool - and there is plenty of financial flexibility to work with.
Which is handy, really, as the club are set to announce the signing of Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco, and are working on a deal to sign another winger in the form of Mika Godts of AFC Ajax. Plus, there is the renewed interest in versatile forward and World Cup winner, Ferran Torres of FC Barcelona.
Those deals certainly feel a lot more plausible to happen now the club will get that money for Kolo Muani this summer, let's hope as many as possible can be done before the game with Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup in just 11 days time.
