The short but fruitful Manchester United career of Casemiro has come to an end, as the player announced his departure from the club, with his contract set to expire at the end of this season.
The veteran midfielder on Thursday took to social media to let the footballing world know about his exit from the historic club after spending four seasons at Manchester, where he scored 21 goals and provided 13 assists in 146 appearances for the Red Devils.
Casemiro addressed his message in the video he posted to everyone at the club, saying, "From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and love that I now share with our supporters for this special club."
"It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months,
"We still have a lot to fight for together; my complete focus will, as always, remain on giving my everything to help our club succeed."
Given the recent developments at the club, everyone saw this coming at the end of this season, as the club has already identified Brighton's Carlos Baleba as Casemiro's replacement, and the Reds would like to reach an agreement with the youngster ahead of the other interested clubs.
For starters, United's co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was never a fan of the Brazilian due to his high wage bill, which costs the Reds £375,000 per week, which was a big hurdle in his plans of signing talented youngsters who would understandably play for a much lower salary.
Although Casemiro is also likely to gain, as he announced the decision well before the end of the ongoing season, giving his suitors much-needed time to line up a move for him when the summer transfer window opens.

Apart from the financial gains, United have benefited hugely from the Brazilian's 2022 transfer. Casemiro played an important role in the club's few but much-needed successes during his tenure. This season, Manuel Ugarte was brought in as his replacement, but the Uruguayan has yet to live up to expectations, while Casemiro proved his mettle throughout the campaign.
