Announced last weekend in the sights of Galatasaray, Fabian Ruiz is set to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain for two additional years. The Spanish midfielder has also been linked with Everton in recent weeks.
After finalizing the extensions of Willian Pacho (2030) and Ibrahim Mbaye (2028), PSG is set to secure the future of another player, and not the least, as it is Fabian Ruiz. An essential cog for Luis Enrique for several months, the 29-year-old Spanish midfielder is at the end of his contract with PSG in June 2027, like Senny Mayulu.
Fabian Ruiz was therefore part of the urgent cases to be resolved for PSG, one way or another, and last weekend, the Spanish press revived rumors of a transfer of the Andalusian to Galatasaray, with several articles contradicting each other and seeming quite far from reality.
This Tuesday morning, the day after PSG's elimination against Paris FC, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, specializing in the transfer market (Spanish in particular), announces that Fabian Ruiz is set to extend his contract by two years with PSG, until June 2029.
Major news confirmed immediately by another Italian journalist specializing in the transfer market, Fabrizio Romano.
PSG's desire to extend Fabian Ruiz had already leaked in the fall and will now materialize. It would also not be surprising if PSG announces several extensions at the same time, as it did with Luis Enrique, Vitinha, Achraf Hakimi, and Nuno Mendes last February.
With this Fabian Ruiz extension well underway, PSG will be able to focus on its other major files, notably those of Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola, whose contracts end in 2028. Two major attacking players for PSG, French internationals who share the same agent. The Mayulu case, tied to PSG until 2027, also represents a real short-term issue for the club.
