Paris Saint-Germain released its traditional medical update on the eve of the match against Lille for matchday 18 of Ligue 1. And in an unwelcome surprise, João Neves has joined the Parisian infirmary.
A depleted PSG will face Lille this Friday night at the Parc des Princes (9 p.m.) as part of matchday 18 of Ligue 1. In addition to the absences of Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Mbaye, who are still at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco and Senegal, PSG will also have to manage without its injured players from recent weeks.
In its daily medical update, PSG informs that "Quentin Ndjantou is continuing his treatment protocol" while "Lee Kang-in and Matvey Safonov are doing adapted work," as has been the case for several weeks now. But the day's bad news concerns João Neves.
Unused on the bench Monday against Paris FC, the Portuguese midfielder is suffering from "muscle discomfort" and "is doing individual work" this Thursday.
Listed in PSG's medical update, João Neves will certainly be absent this Friday night, removing an option for Luis Enrique in midfield, who would undoubtedly have liked to give Fabian Ruiz a rest.
Compared to Monday's match against Paris FC, PSG does regain Lucas Hernandez, who is no longer ill and has been training normally since Tuesday.
