Player Ratings As Bournemouth Make History In San Sebastián With The Clubs First Win In Europe

Off the back of an error at the weekend, boy did the Bournemouth keeper make up for it and then some. An outstanding performance from the Serbian stopper when the Cherries came under severe pressure in the latter stages. A couple of seriously stunning saves. 9/10

The Cherries skipper became the oldest player from England to make his European debut since 1962, and he performed as reliably as ever. Smithy just never stops, no player deserves these moments more than him. 8/10

Colossal shift at the back from Hill. Determined and unshakeable throughout. 8/10

The Cherries' big summer signing showed his European experience with a top performance on the night. The ceiling is incredibly high for the Portuguese defender that's for sure. 8/10

A monster shift from the Cherries left back, who was rewarded for his superb start to the season with an international call up with France. 8/10

A real battle in that midfield and one that Tyler stood up to in his usual fashion. Tired and had to be replaced, but his first half showing in particular was pivotal. 8/10

A joy to watch as normal. Alex has rightly been named in Thomas Tuchel's next England squad and he once again showed his class, this time on the European stage. His assist for Bournemouth's second was simply sublime. 9/10

Probably Rayan's best performance of the season, also adding another goal to his name. The Brazilian was a constant threat and headed in expertly to double the Cherries lead on the night. 8/10

A strong and disciplined performance by Cherries ever present. A really impressive start to the season for Tavernier and he continued it into Europe. 8/10

Undoubtedly Justin's strongest showing of the season so far. His pressing was relentless and throughly deserved to become the club's first ever scorer in the Europa League. 9/10

Eva continued in similar fashion, being the unselfish striker who continues to work and link excellently, but who once again was unlucky not to score. The Brazilian's header came agonisingly off the post, but his work in Cherries opener was crucial. 9/10

Bournemouth came under a barrage of pressure in that second period, so the substitutes had to play their part. Bafode Diakite had to fill in, in an unfamiliar full back role and struggled somewhat, as did Alvaro Rodriguez once replacing Evanilson up top. David Brooks came on late to see the game out, but it was the Scottish duo Ryan Christie and Ben Gannon-Doak who made the most impact from the bench.
