For Bournemouth, Rayan's performances are another reminder of the club's exciting investment in young talent. After arriving from Vasco da Gama earlier this year, the teenager has adapted quickly to life in England and is now proving he can make an impact on football's biggest stage. His initial call up to the Brazil squad came as somewhat of a surprise, but the attacker is continuing to enhance his growing reputation during the tournament with consecutive starts.

Justin Kluivert's Netherlands Suffer Penalty Heartache

Justin Kluivert's World Cup dream came to a heartbreaking end as the Bournemouth attacker saw the Netherlands knocked out by Morocco following a dramatic penalty shootout defeat.

After a 1-1 draw could not separate the sides across 120 minutes, the Round of 32 tie was decided from 12 yards. Kluivert, introduced during extra time after making his first tournament appearance against Tunisia in the previous match, was handed the responsibility of taking one of the Dutch penalties. Justin has built a reputation as the Cherries' most reliable penalty takers, boasting an outstanding record from the spot during his club career, but on football's biggest stage, fortune deserted him as his spot kick crashed off the post. A couple more near misses from Timber and Summerville, ultimately sent the Moroccan's through with a 3-2 shootout victory.

It was a cruel end to Kluivert's tournament, having patiently waited for his opportunity after not featuring much in the group stage. Ronald Koeman did turn to the Bournemouth man in this one however, but despite his faultless penalty record, he was unable to convert for the Netherlands' on this occasion.

For Kluivert the disappointment will be significant given his usually dependable record from the spot. However, the forward will now turn his attention back to Bournemouth, where he will hope to put the setback behind him ahead of the Premier League campaign under new head coach Marco Rose.
