Another busy day of international football for Arsenal, with five Gunners involved across the senior and youth levels. - Viktor Gyökeres scored Sweden’s goal in their 1-1 draw away to Bosnia and Herzegovina. - Riccardo Calafiori started as Italy earned a 1-1 draw against France in Paris. - Ceadach O’Neill featured as Northern Ireland secured an impressive 3-0 win over Ukraine. - Max Dowman started as England U19s beat USA U19s 2-1, although his afternoon ended early after he was sent off with 17 minutes remaining. - Ife Ibrahim came off the bench in the same England U19 victory. If Odegaard Isn’t Available, Who Is Arsenal’s Next Best No.10?

Martin Odegaard picked up an ankle knock with Norway, although Arsenal still have more than a week before Leeds, so there’s every chance he’ll be fit by then. But it does raise an interesting squad question: if Odegaard did miss a game, who is Arsenal’s next-best option at No.10? Eberechi Eze feels like a more natural choice, perhaps over Merino, although there’s another wrinkle there because he may also be needed on the left to cover or rotate with Christos Tzolis. Not sure if Arteta would be bold and go with it, but I think Dowman needs a Premier League start, whether through the middle or on the right with Saka moving into the middle. He was incredible against Ipswich and although shouldn't be overused at a young age, feel he can definitely provide something different for the Gunners Who would you start at No.10 if Odegaard wasn’t available: Eze, Merino, Saka, Dowman or someone else?Sep 30, 2026

Is Gyökeres Finding His Form at the Right Time?

Viktor Gyökeres has scored two goals in two games for Sweden during the international break, and it feels like he’s starting to build a bit of momentum. Kai Havertz returned to Arsenal early after picking up what is understood to be a minor muscle strain with Germany. His availability for Leeds hasn’t been confirmed yet, but even if Havertz is fit, Gyökeres has surely given Arteta something to think about. He hasn’t quite nailed down a regular starting spot yet, but two goals for his country is about as good an argument as he can make.Sep 30, 2026

Does Max Dowman Need a Loan or Is He Already Too Good to Send Out?

Max Dowman has already shown he can make an impact around Arsenal’s first team, and his goal against Ipswich only adds to the feeling that he’s ready for more senior football. The question is whether Arsenal can actually give him enough of it. A loan would mean regular starts and proper week-to-week experience, but there’s also an argument that sending him away now makes little sense if he’s good enough to contribute for Arsenal already. For me, I’d keep him around the first team and give him minutes where possible rather than rushing into a loan. What would you do: keep Dowman at Arsenal, or send him out to play every week?Sep 30, 2026

Gyökeres Scores Again as More Gunners Represent Their Countries Today

Another productive night for Viktor Gyökeres, who scored again for Sweden as they beat Poland 3-1 in the Nations League. Sweden have now won both of their opening group games, with Gyökeres finding the net in each. Riccardo Calafiori was an unused substitute as Italy responded to their opening defeat by beating Turkey 4-1. There’s plenty more Arsenal interest today.
