Fueled by the prolific "CPR" tags, Chelsea’s record signing warns rivals that attempting to stop the attack could be near impossible on a consistent basis.

Morgan Rogers has fired a warning to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals ahead of a massive clash at Stamford Bridge this weekend, against Tottenham Hotspur.

Rogers, who turned 24 in July, joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in the summer for a club-record £117 million and has made a flying start to life with the Blues.

The attacking midfielder has registered eight goal contributions in his opening nine matches across all competitions, forming a strong relationship with both Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

Such a prolific attack has seen the trio score 11 of the 18 goals Chelsea have managed in the Premier League. Rogers, in particular, has scored three goals in the opening 10 minutes of matches to set the west London side on their way.

The England international has a strong track record in big games from his time at Aston Villa and, most recently, at the FIFA World Cup for his country, registering an assist in the 2-1 semi-final defeat to Argentina.

In last season’s Europa League final against Bundesliga side Freiburg, Rogers scored a goal and provided an assist in the 3-0 victory, just days before doing the same in a 4-2 Premier League victory over Liverpool. The 24-year-old also managed two goals in three appearances against Saturday’s opponents, Tottenham.

With Rogers in form and supported by Palmer and Pedro, the England star has issued caution to defenders who will come up against one of the most in-form attacks in Europe at present.

In a recent interview, as quoted by Chelsea’s in-house media team, Rogers outlined what would happen if opponents tried to stop the attack, which has been nicknamed ‘CPR’ or ‘JP Morgan’.

He said: “We all want different things, if you try to stop Cole, then it allows me and Joao more space. If you try to stop me and Joao, then Cole's going to be free as a bird to set his authority on the game. It’s kind of a mismatch for other teams of what to stop and how to stop it.”

These are strong words from Chelsea’s number 17, and he didn’t mention the Blues’ current in-form attacker, Pedro Neto. The Portuguese winger scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Everton and registered an assist in the 5-1 victory over Bournemouth the week before.

As the west London side head into a busy run of games before the November international break, Rogers’ stern warning will be put to the test. Chelsea host Tottenham and Manchester United in back-to-back weeks in the Premier League, but between those two league games, Xabi Alonso’s side will travel to his former club, Liverpool, for a fourth-round League Cup clash.

The final game before the break will be a trip to the north-east to take on Sunderland. Rogers has sent a message, and now it is up to him and his teammates to prove that Chelsea’s front line is not one to be messed with.
