0%Liverpool’s summer search for attacking reinforcements is starting to take shape, with Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye emerging as a name increasingly linked with a move to Anfield.
According to the latest reports from Loic Tanzi from L’Equipe, Liverpool have made significant progress in their pursuit of the Senegal international and could submit an opening offer in the coming days.
Player Interest
However, the situation is moving quickly, the next few days could prove to be decisive, with Manchester United also monitoring Mbaye.
The teenager scored against United after just two minutes when PSG drew 1-1 with Michael Carrick's side in a pre-season friendly in Sweden, giving the club a first hand look at the pace and directness that makes Mbaye such an exciting prospect.

The 18-year-old made his PSG debut at just 16 and has already accumulated significant first-team experience despite his age. His numbers also explain the excitement.
During the 2025/26 Ligue 1 campaign, Mbaye recorded three goals and two assists from 997 minutes. His output is hardly that of an established superstar yet, but that is precisely what makes the profile so interesting.
Mbaye’s versatility could also make him particularly attractive. Comfortable operating from the right, he possesses the pace and directness required to attack space, while his experience within PSG’s demanding environment has exposed him to elite-level football unusually early in his career.

Liverpool are clearly looking towards the future while attempting to maintain their attacking standards, and Mbaye represents the kind of high-upside signing that could develop into a major asset.
Liverpool are already attempting to negotiate with the French champions over Bradley Barcola, whose valuation has reportedly made that deal extremely difficult. Mbaye is being pursued separately, but PSG will have little reason to make negotiations easy.
No offer has been announced as yet, but some sort of movement may take places over the coming days as the transfer window closure draws nearer.
